i just got a very strange & frightening information today, which of course increased my tension. one of my friend in canada told me that immigration guys can check our e-mail accounts that we have given them. Well i am not sure this is right ... but what if ? Lol that means we must delete every bit of information which can used against us ? ?????

Your friend is a conspiracy theorist or suffers from paranoia.

While it is always good to be safe, this is taking things too far. U need not fear unless you have engaged in some criminal activities.
Secondly getting info from our email account can be done, but you need very good hackers or high level bureaucracy(consider CIA, NSA type of institutions which have super computers, skilled manpower-translate that into multi billion dollar budgets)

So stop worrying unnecessarily!!!

I feel very happy for recent progress happening mainly in NDVO.
Good luck and congratulations for those (esp. atul.amin, srid_a, n others) who have got their ecas as "in process" status.

I was/am quite busy on something, so couldn't update myself here in the forum/thread. I will try my best to be active in this thread in the following days.

My current ecas status is RBVO, and eagerly waiting for "in process" status.

I guess Lakhvinder, Pal_NP and Lamhey will get their ecas changed in the same week.

First of all it is totally baseless & i defy this since CIC can't indulge in such illegal activities of Mail Box Hacking.

Secondly in an ISP there are people directly walking in with complaints of threating or malicious mails from a certain ID but information is never extend/shared directly. They are asked to bring an FIR & it is done through a proper channel.

Even If vigilence department asks for any info of person involved in Internet fraud or threatning mails, a written complaint on letter head or from a registered mail ID is required & a protocol needs to be followed to release information.

I donot think CIC will involve itself in seeking permission for such a huge backlog & individually check mail accounts of applicants.

I think it was legitimate that i posted it here, as i was having some doubts as the info i received was bit convincing the way it was presented. i just asked for views whether it is possible in any way. now whosoever u r, if u didnt like it just go n fark off. u have no right to say sm1 pathetic .

i think u r among sm of those loosers who always think of themselves as genius, farkin think that this public forum is ur DAD's forum.

Do u think they have enough time to read your emails???? Do you know what they will look for in your emails??? DO you know how many people are waiting for the approvals??... waste of time and energy.... pls concentrate on going forward.

nobody can access your e-mail ....until u gave your e-mail password to any other person...and CIC don't have to time to hack each person e-mail account password... we are in 4131 category...computer expert.....we don't to bother about such silly things....

Moreover, i was wondering what will they achieve by hacking into the email accounts. If they get into mine, they would just see some photos, facts and other spam mails. So, it would be a waste of time and effort for them.

But the question remains - what would their intensions be even if they have to consider it? i am sure few people go through background verification, and few dont. Some go through interview, while others dont. Hence, we need to understand what could the reasons be if they consider to hack in.

Personally, i guess it could just be a rumour and a false alarm.
