I can understand your concern. But embassy's work has a confidentiality.
The way I get information is from consultants who are running their agencies who were employees in the Canadian high commission before.
they process study visa bacause it's urgent. Students cant wait bacause of their academic schedule.
And it involves a lot more money that's anywhere between 15-40 thousand $

I was fortunate enough to get it before the season.
but it would have been the same way of yours if it was just teo week later.
just imagine out of a total of 25000 applications cvo must hsve some 2000.
In the meanwhile study visas must be of the same number but they hsve a maximum of only one month to process all of it. They get around 3 months for PR visas.
and still PR applications are under their normal processing time of 12 months.
so basically we have no way to ask them why it's late even though it's late considering applicants who already got through.
let them some time. Good news will soon be coming

I am done with this now..

Firstly, I went for new photographs..since photo taken date needs to be mention and it is clearly mentioned that photographs should not be older than 6 months..

Secondly, I wrote all the details in the back of the photo keeping the photo horizontally so that I can accommodate all the details.. make sure handwriting is clear..

Third thing is I took out one print out on A4 paper mentioning below details:

Photo Details for the reference

• Name: Applicant Name
  DOB:
  Photo Taken: (date)
  Studio Name:
  Add:

I then went to VFS center and give them this print out alongwith the email request which came and photographs.

I went to the photographer and he affixed his round studio stamp on back of one photo and other details i filled with hand.

Express entry can not be the reason...because CIC has clearly mentioned in their website that they dont have enough applications for EE. They are currently working only on FSW..One of my friend who is in canada has told me that It is due to tourist visa because of a mega GAME event called PAN AMERICA...

visiting visas can be a reason but not for the sport event.
this is season for tourists too.
but it's mainly study visa. They hsve students intake in jan feb, aug sep and in some colleges October as well. Express entry will not cause delay because they dont hsve so msny eligible applications from the subcontinent.
