I would not overthink it too much. I don't think you would have received a NOI from Alberta if your potential application was "dead on arrival"

Apart from the potential application fee for Alberta PNP, what have you got to lose ?
Yeah, fair enough. I don't really mind the fee, but the dashed expectations would be tough to deal with, haha. I am trying to condition myself to think of this as a fluke, to avoid heartbreak in the future. :)

I have been there with my own nomination process ;-)

Just review carefully the criteria for that NOI you received and obviously, if it states clearly that you must be currently working in that NOC, then you would not receive the nomination.

Hi bud. I'm sorry to hear that. There are a number of methods you can use to contact IRCC. Others have posted their number here, but you may have to wait quite a long time. You could also Tweet them here: https://twitter.com/CitImmCanada?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author.

But, I recommend using their online tool on the Government website here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/refugees/afghanistan/wizard.html.

You just need to click through the various options and it will tell you what measures are available to you, and how best to contact the Canadian Government about your situation.

I wish you the best of luck, and do let us know how things go. :) Stay safe.

Hey peeps. While we are all speculating (which I find cathartic, for the most part), wanted to get your opinion on my Alberta NOI again. It appears that the most recent NOI was focused on engineers (NOC 213x). My primary NOC is 2132, but I haven't worked as an engineer for over two years at this point. I am getting an MBA right now and my most recent work was as a Key Account Manager (NOC 0601). Do you reckon this puts my nomination in jeopardy?
Doesn’t matter as long as the experience has been in the last 10years and continuous for one year.

This applies to Express Entry only, for OINP, you need at least 1 year of work experience in the last five years otherwise they will reject your application. Every province has its own requirements.

Thank you. No specific criteria mentioned in the NOI, at least. I'll watch out for any conditions when I accept the NOI and am sent a link for the online application.

Feds ease travel restrictions for fully vaccinated foreign nationals.

The federal government has added fully vaccinated foreign nationals to the ranks of travellers who are once again welcome on Canadian soil.

As of midnight Monday night, quarantine requirements were eased for non-essential international travellers who have had a full course of a Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccine.

To be eligible, travellers must have allowed at least 14 days to pass since their last vaccine shot and show proof of a negative molecular test for COVID-19 that's no more than 72 hours old.

They are also required to use the ArriveCAN app or online web portal to upload their vaccination details.

Denis Vinette, vice-president of the travellers branch of the Canada Border Services Agency, says the latest wave of vaccinated visitors is arriving primarily by air.

Vinette says that simplifies matters for the agency, since airlines will be screening travellers to ensure they meet the criteria.

"The great thing in air is that you've got the airline working with you, who will not allow individuals to get on if they're not meeting all of the requirements," Vinette said in an interview. "The land border is a different beast."

Canada has approved four COVID-19 vaccines: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, the Oxford-AstraZeneca shot, also known as Covishield, and the single-dose Johnson & Johnson option.

Vinette said the agency will continue to conduct random tests of travellers at the border, a surveillance program that has been in place since the phased-in process of easing travel restrictions began earlier this summer.

Between Aug. 9 and 26, the positivity rate for randomly selected, fully vaccinated travellers was just 0.19 per cent despite the increase in cases in both Canada and the U.S.

Here's hoping this change goes well, and remains in place. :)
