Though it is hard to believe that in 21st century a developed country like Canada does not have a system to differentiate or simply sort applications based on inland-outland applicants, that too when applications are online and not on paper.

Or maybe that is just a lame excuse IRCC wants us to believe.
Probably a lame excuse to buy time.

I’m now thinking that they probably can but they don’t want to do it.

Which shows how stupid it is not to process applications because of travel restrictions... Anyways not only FSW can do that, but any outland applicant.

You are right! If it was really about travel restrictions then they would have stopped all outlanders from coming in, regardless of them being a student or a worker. But their real motives coupled with lack of transparency seem a lot more sinister.

I read a job listing asking for at least 75% score, is this correct? Were you asked for the same?
I don't remember how much was needed, but I think I scored a 100% ;)

Wondering how many people here had Australia as their 1st option but now choosing Canada since Australia pretty much closed it’s gates to outlanders. They have made it extremely streamlined for inlanders to get PR though.

Judging from LegalFalcon’s recent expository prose; If IRCC is actually waiting for travel restrictions to be lifted before processing and finalizing outland applications that may explain why they haven’t conducted draws for outlanders yet because doing that would mean they immediately have to start processing these new applications as well.

Most of us rightly think that sending ITAs now shouldn’t be a problem since none of those invited will land this year but from this recent revelation it seems non-conduction of these draws was more related to the pause of outland applications processing than Covid19 risk

I’m just chilling till September 15 to see what excuse they are going manufacture again.

We will see - I am not panicining as much now ;) We have to remember that last year draws started from September, we only had two draws in July and August.

Maybe then they will say: “well the border restrictions aren’t technically lifted with the vaccination condition in place, so yeah, please wait…..until covid is gone. We will finalize apps after border is completely open”.

A passport question. My passport expires next year March, I have an AoR of Jan 2021 and Medicals passed Feb 2021. Assuming (fingers crossed) PRs are given before the end of the year should I renew my passport before PR issue and if i do do I have to update my profile/will it delay PR? Or should I just wait until the passport expires next year?

Big news for me everyone. I have a ghost update this morning! I'm US citizen/resident, FSW-O, so perhaps the timing has to do with the border changes coming into effect today.
Great to hear. I really look forward to US-based FSWs getting their PPRs starting from this month. Have you recently ordered your GCMS?
