Hi Friends,
I immigrated to Canada in 2010 but due to some serious family problems and issues I had to come back to middle east. It has been 4 years now outside Canada. I am not positive if I will be eligible for PR renewal. I can't even prove what sort of serious problems I had. If I lose my PR, what are my chances
1- Will I have to apply from scratch? With new rules of immigration and will my old immigration status help me at all?
2- Are there any chances if I can get my PR renewed?

thanks

1 - You would apply under the new/current rules. No - your old status won't help.
2 - If you can return to Canada before your PR card expires and not be reported when you enter Canada for failing to meet the residency requirement, then you would need to remain in Canada for 2 straight years without leaving for even a day to keep your PR status.

Looks like you dont have to be in Canada for continuous two years if these apply

That's only if you meet the residency requirement. If you don't meet the residency requirement (like the OP), once you return to Canada you need to stay two straight years if you want to try to keep your PR status.
