Got my PPR last week - now awaiting CoPR. Any ideas how long it takes guys, from PPR to CoPR?

At VAC a staff member said it could be around two weeks. But this is the time for applicants from Auckland NZ.

I see that you are from EE, that was a speedy process

Oh, it's been three weeks since you sent your passport for stamping. I am surprised that you did not get it yet.

I sent my passport on 17 Aug, now I wait.

Yes been almost two and a hf weeks - will wait for another week or so. Perhaps then I can raise a CSE. Been reading other topics (from other Visa Offices) - seems over a month or 5 weeks is kinda normal. Hope SVO picks up the pace

Bit nervy now - but is there any chance tht app may get declined etc (god forbid!) given tht the local visa office does their owns checks etc

Any ideas anyone?

Does anyone know if we can open a Canadian bank accnt from here? Maybe some kinda tie ups btwn ANZ/Commbank/NAB etc and Canadian bank?

Hi mate,

I have also got my stamped passport back.
Now it is time to sort out landing issues.
Did you manage to open an account with a Canadian bank?

Nah - spoke to HSBC, but they dont really assist in opening canadian accnt - looks like it can only be done after landing.
Havent asked anz/commbank etc yet - but none of the canadian banks have them on their website as tie-ups etc
