Hi Friends, Congratulations to those already having Maple leaf stamped on Passports! Be ready to fly with hope! I am still waiting for PPR/DM, but this is for all of us, people ahead of me please start putting in your thoughts, suggestions, questions, any useful information.

I thought we need a forum to discuss and share advice on topics related to moving from India to Canada solo or with family. All of the lucky folks will have to think and plan for a quite a few things starting from selection of destination to Canada, best airlines to job hunt, accommodation, insurance, mobile connection, bank accounts, transportation and many more...

If possible, if some one knows how to create sub-threads on this forum, I request you to create such sub-threads for topics mentioned above so that we do not mix too many things onto the same chain of discussions.

Wish everyone great good luck and fortune! May God Bless All of us with loads of happiness, health and wealth and sense of humanity!

Regards,
KM

Hey buddy, thanks for starting this thread for sharing the all the vital things & suggestions. And don't worry, you'll get the PPR soon. I'm flying on Oct 16th through Air India via JFK & subsequently through TAM Airlines. Haven't thought much about insurance, mobile & bank. Will stay for a couple of days with my close friend & then would rent a basement in a centrally located area in terms of transportation. Good luck for your PPR.

Regards.
