Anyone in hong kong ever provide notarized birth certificate to HKVO??
how did you get it done? by notary public? or just any lawyer could do??
i keep asking around and the answer is soooo different.. :'( :'( i send email to HKVO but no reply (as expected). i just have few days till my deadline.. :'( :'(
anyone with real experience please kindly advise.... thanks :'(
My interpretation of the notarized birth certificate for kids in Hong Kong is the copy issued by the Hong Kong government. If you look clearly the cert issued by the Hong Kong government, it is termed as a certified true copy of birth registration. The paper itself is a "notarized copy".

did hkvo request the same to you? did you only provide copy of the "certified true copy" of the birth cert?
well, there are still arguments and discussion about this, some said "certified true copy" is not similar as "notarized copy" and vice versa. i don't wanna take the risk, so i just spent hk$2k on a notary public to make the notarized copy and send them to hkvo yesterday. hopefully all work well. cheers ;D ;D

Hope so. My logic is that I sent a certificate that is issued by the HKSAR government. I cannot think of a reason why such cert is not acceptable.

HKVO already request RPRF at the very early stage now, even before medical, so weird... try to gather as much money as possible? haha :p :p

Hey all,

Got a reply from an email sent almost a month ago when they requested additional docs and RPRF. I was asking about the request of Hukou for non-Chinese citizens and here's the answer.

Please provide an explanation for the Hukou request together with the rest of your submission.

This is already kind of old news to most of us, but I thought best to share with you. BTW, docs have reached HKVO on May 26th in the morning and still no MR, no SLU, no nothing...

Best of luck to all!

Thank you for sharing,
I have sent HKVO the same request but they did not reply yet,
How could they ask for explanation with your submission now if you already submit your docs?

It could be that the officer who's replied to the email is not the same who is checking my file or perhaps they got the docs, but haven't gone through them.
Of course, there's a worse alternative: that my docs got lost inside the VO. The only proof I have of them reaching HKVO is the signature on the DHL website. The consulate doesn't acknowledge receipt of documents.

Anyway, I would say that the most plausible option is that my docs are there, but haven't been reviewed yet. All I can do is wait, then.

You can either look for a lawyer or go to "Home Affairs Department" (民政事務處 )of HK. It is free if you go to 民政事務處 .
