Hi friends..need some info

I am the main applicant and got visa for myself, wife and my son.Is it acceptable if I visit Canada alone and apply for PR card for myself and my dependents on their behalf

Bro....you don't apply for a PR card. It is done on your behalf by the immigration officer. So yes you can land alone but then only you will get the PR card. Once your family is landing they will get the PR card.

I think it is better to land together and then let them come back. You can stay and collect the PR cards on their behalf (if that's a possible option)

Hello all, I have a query .....my wife is keen on learning driving so that she could drive in Canada if and when we could afford a car....my question is does she needs to take basic classes from here in INDIA and obtain a license or is it better that she starts from the base in CANADA itself.....will her getting a fresh license be of any help there to get G,G1 or G2 ....she will be an absolute new learner....what are your advise on this....

I have an Iphone GSM here is it of any use in Canada or should I get a CDMA phone from here.

The most important question does PPR mail comes any time in the day or is only during working hours of NDVO.

My 2 cents....their is no specific advantage of learning driving here and going. It's better to learn driving in Canada. It's easier to learn directly the left hand driving. The only disadvantage is the cost will be more.

Friday we received our COPR and Passports back from SPVO with Visa issued and we can finally celebrate!

Dear Seniors,

One my friends has received her passport back with the visa and she is planning to land in April. On funds to carry, the minimum required for a single person is around 12,000 CAD. Is it possible if she carries 5,000 CAD for now (cash+FDD,ForexCard,etc.) and declare 7,000 CAD in her account back home and inform them that this money will follow later? Is their any such possibility? Would appreciate your input - thanks.

No....While landing she has to show all the PoF in CAD currency only. She can carry some in cash and the rest in TC's. Alternatively she can open a bank account with scotia bank and show the bank statement with the funds.

Hi all,
I need an urgent answer from you people.
I applied for fsw 2014 and got file number and uci.but my file got rejected from embassy due to some reasons.
I want to know will cic keep my all documents with them along with UCI.or they destroy all documents? Especially birth certificate and all.
What all documents they will KEEP along with uci?

Buddy....sorry to hear that...cic will retun all the docs...but that will take sometime...approx 3 months is what mine took as i could not make it before the fsw 2013 noc cap.

Guys need your help!!!

My timeline is on my profile.... Anybody who came across this situation please guide....

I have requested NDVO for steps to add child couple of times but I did not get reply for more than 30 days....

Since I came to know the list of docs for adding child through this forum I submitted the docs and the fee of 150 CAD yesterday./....

Here my doubt is how long they will take to process the child docs?????

And will there be MR for 30 days old child????

FYI - I have got PPR on 18-Feb-2015...

hey, regarding proof of funds, initially we produced an FD of Rs. 10 Lakhs during our application. So at the port of entry, is it OK we show this FD as our proof of funds?
