Nope, registered post is different than speed post (although both are handled by India post). Registered post is just regular post (although with proof of delivery & tracking), while speed post is bit faster than registered/regular.

Couldn't really comment on submitting it directly. Hopefully someone else would chime in on that. But when I was at the high commission waiting for my interview, I saw couple of people collecting passports directly from there. So it might be possible I guess? Better to contact the high commission directly & see what they advice.

Hi Guys,

Need some advice. I am a CVO applicant and have received interview email yesterday. They have asked me to bring the following.

Please bring your passport(s) and the following documents:
- Recent employment reference letter
- Recent Proof of funds
- Your Personal History (Schedule A form, Question Cool details from 18th birthday without gaps.)

I have submitted employment reference letters from two of my past employees who's duties matched my NOC (I had worked for other companies but didn't mention them as their NOC's were not relevant). Company 1 had closed down their operations in my country (back in 2007) and only head office in US is contactable. I had obtained the reference letter from the director who was managing the local operations at that time by contacting him in the US and submitted a copy of the letter with my application.

I had resigned from company 2 just before I submitted my application to CIO (company was likely to close down as it had financial trouble). I had submitted a copy of my resignation acceptance letter along with the reference letter in the application. I am still unemployed. Company 2 had closed down after a few months of my resignation. However mobile number of the HR manager who had signed the letter was included in the letter and is active. (I also have a current visiting card of that HR manager)

My question now is, what are they meaning by Recent employment reference letter ?. Is it a letter from my current employer? (I don't have one, as i am unemployed and freelancing at the moment).

Do you think it's game over for me if VO is unable to verify my letters with the employer? and the fact that I am unemployed currently?. What can I do if the company closed down . Quite worried.

My Credit card was charged on 2nd Feb. 2015, but still no PER (File Number) is received. I am worried.

I received the MR email yesterday. In the email, it has been mentioned that I would receive a separate email for Medicals with detailed instructions. If I do not receive within next 48 hours I have been told in the email to reply back. Is this common? Anybody who experienced this during their MR?

Hey Avinir,

We have both Online and DD payment modes to pay RPRF. Even I paid my RPRF through online payment. Online payment is safe, quick and economical as per my experience.

Since arka has asked about DD payment process, i have shared DD payment process with him.

I am going for medical test on 24 March 2015. My son's hemoglobin is always below 10. We consulted with doctor and he said that he is not suffering from thlesemia but having deficiency of iron in body so hemoglobin is low. It remains between 8.5 to 9.5

Should I disclose it to doctors during medical examination and will it effect to decision making for my PR

How old is your son? If he is below 5, you need not worry as I have heard the doctors just measure height and record weight. If he is above 5, I think you should declare it!

The bank draft should be made for the exact amount and in favour of "Canadian High Commission" or "Receiver General for Canada" payable at New Delhi
