Friends,

I am posting this question for the third time now.

No reply in last 2 occasions. :( . Maybe because this is a unique case.

Here is my case.

My company has requested for my travel abroad for project work at the earliest. Now I have got my PPR and my wife is 2 months pregnant.

I would like to declare the pregnancy while sending the passport via VFS. (NOTE: My wife is advised to avoid travel until pregnancy)

Question 1: Will declaring the pregnancy cause any delay in NDVO stamping the passport? Will they ask to wait till the baby is born?
I have asked the question to NDVO as well couple of days back, but I am pretty sure, I wont get response by today.

Question 2: Is there any fast track in VFS as I see that passport gets stamped in X day, but gets back to the applicant in X+10 days.
Can this be avoided? Is travelling to Delhi personally of any help?

Really appreciate a speedy reply.

Thanks
Vinodh
May I ask why your wife is advised to avoid travel? Many people falsely believe that air travel is dangerous to pregnant women. It isn't, unless her doctor has given her a specific medical reason why she should not.

If you will wait until the baby is born before moving to Canada you must inform the VO. You must wait until the baby is born, then add the baby to your application including providing updated forms for yourself and your wife, the baby's birth certificate and passport, updated proof of funds, etc. New PCCs will probably be required due to the lapse of time. After you add the baby to your application, processing will resume.

On the other hand, if you move your family to Canada prior to the birth and the baby is born there, it is automatically a citizen. Wouldn't that be better?

If you need your passport back to travel for work, explain this to the VO and they will tell you how to proceed. If they don't stamp it before returning it, you'll be instructed when to re-submit it.

Hello Friends.

Which courier service is used by VFS to deliver passports, if home delivery was chosen?

The status just shows passport dispatched. Where to find the courier tracking number?

Hi Friends,

I need an expert advice. During assessment of my PER application it was noticed by CIC that I had dual employment. With primary job which is matching NOC in Morning Shift hours. While the other one in evening shift.

Please confirm if they would consider my application as eligible or not?

Kevin
Have they said anything about it? Do you meet the minimum requirement of 1 year of continuous full-time experience in your primary NOC? Do you make the pass mark?

If so, it's not likely to affect your application. What stage of the process are you in right now?

Hello,

Answer 1: As per your PPR letter, you should inform VO about Pregnancy immediately.
When writing to VO via CSE, You should write "Urgent" in subject line to get quick response.
in my case i got response in 7 days.In my opinion your process will be delayed, untill delivery of your baby
but i will recommend you to await for their reply. I know one case where process is on hold because
guy's wife got pregnant and he could not complete his medical.

Answer 2: VFS don't have fast track option, but you can request them to process your Visa faster
by submitting the letter with proof of upcoming travelling.Usually it works.
i guess travelling to Delhi may not be helpful ,as people are submitting their PP via VFS only.
best option is to call your local VFS and ask them. They will guide you.

BTW congratulation to future Canadian Father !!!
Thank you so much and +1 to you.

If I donot wait for the reply to CEC email, and send the passports today, they will return the passports within 15 days (without stamping), in case they decide to ask me to wait till the baby is born, right?
Hope they will not keep my passport with them longer. As, i have to make a immediate travel to client place with my company.

This may be a bit out of the place, but I think we are in it together and repose from this group would be more appropriate.

hi,

After all the efforts for last 2 years, I have now managed to get the PR visa and planing to leave in July this year.

Uncertainty.....daunts.....all the time.

What am I doing?

One big question is that of schools and kids education.

Not many of the children in Canada like to study beyond class 12. Somewhere I read that one in seven students in Canada study beyond the grade 12.

One of the key reasons for moving to Canada is that I want a better future for kids. I want kids to study and have better opportunities when they grow up. Worried, if they are not interested in studies when they grow....then why are we making such a big move?

Please help, especially those who may have some personal experience.

Cry
I don't know where you heard this but it is false. In fact, Canada is near the top of all countries in the world ranked by percentage of the adult population who have completed a post-secondary degree. It is #3 in the world, at 56%. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_25%E2%80%9334_year_olds_having_a_tertiary_education_degree

Canada's public schools are among the finest in the world, with Ontario and BC ranking especially high.

Also remember that motivation is partially up to the individual and family. If education is important to you, your kids will get the message.

Senoirs please advise :

Is it necessary to have travel insurance ?
Yes it is recommended to have travel insurance. In most of the provinces the health card takes 3-4 months to arrive after you apply. So during that time you will not be covered. By taking a travel insurance from here, it will be cheaper and it will also cover you until the health card comes in case you need it
how to carry fund to Canada From India. ?
Several ways to carry it.
- Cash (CAD $$2-3K)
- Traveller Cheques (CAD $$5-6K)
- Open an account with scotia bank, deposit the money and take a bank statement
- You could also show bankers cheque, stocks, debuntures, bonds etc
Check this link for more info

Do we need to declare the at New Delhi air port also ?

Not that I am aware off. But if you need to declare at CBSA when you land if you are carrying more than CAD $$10K

Thanks for your clear reply as always.

There is a medical condition and doctor has advised not to travel. I will still check with the doctor.
But, not that I have already mailed to NDVO via CEC, do I have an option?

Also, since she is just 2 months, will they just stamp the passport and let me travel so that the child could be born in Canada?

It is strongly recommended to buy insurance from here Initialy. As it takes some times (about 2-3 months) to get insurance there. Many companies provides immigrant insurance with a validity of 3 months or so.

You should carry about 3000 CAD in cash (for a family of 2-3) and rest in the form of DDs or Traveller cheques.

Money above 10000 has to be declared at immigration deptt in Canada and not at New Delhi.

Good luck
