hello seniors

Need urgent help. i sent out documents requested by NDVO from canada to india via canada post registered mail on february 9th. It had police check from fbi and India documents.

the tracker seems to show item has left canada but doesnt show anything beyond that. I am just worried if the mail has been lost or somehting?

what do i do? It had original documents from FBI and India pcc. should i email to ndvo with attachment? or can i send a copy of the document in another mail?

Has anybody ever used registered mail option via Canada post? help please

Got PPR from Los Angeles

I'm grateful to you all for your help in getting me the PR visa. I wanted to point out how long it takes to get the visa stamped in the US i.e. add a month after getting PPR. (for Indians who cannot send their passport to Canada.)

  • PPR from CPC-O: Jan 8 (I Immediately responded to print visa in the US)
  • PPR from Los Angeles: Jan 30
  • Passport Received by LA: Feb 3
  • Passport Sent/Mailed from LA: Feb 12
  • Passport Received: Feb 14

How long is the visa valid?

Until I got my visa, I had always wondered how long would it be valid for. It seems to be that a few days longer than 1 year from the date you completed the Medical. (Ensure that your passport is valid for at least a year and a half after the date of your Medical.)

  • Medical Completed: Nov 5, 2014
  • eMedical Entry/File Completed: Nov 13, 2014
  • Medical Updated in ECAS: Nov 24, 2014
  • Visa Valid up to: Nov 20, 2015
congrat and wish you well in Canada.

Thanks for your reply. In Schedule A I left a 4 month gap in time while I answered Personal history for last 10 years. They wanted to know what I did in those 4 months.

For India PCC, no it wasn't mentioned that I need to submit India PCCs. All they wrote, and I am quoting them here

"FBI Clearance: If your residence period in the USA has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original FBI clearance certificate for you. This must be received at this office by: 2015/03/27
 > Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate from UNITED KINGDOM for your spouse. This must be received at this office by: 2015/03/27"

Hi mk,
I'm not an expert and ur query is complicated but will try my best to answer...replies inline in blue...
Now for ur reference, I'd like to post about a fellow forumite TangoCharlie1234, his case is slightly different as he got MR request just after his newborn was born (he had not informed VO abt it), so he completed MR for himself and his wife plus got the newborn's passport on expedited processing and while sending the docs, he directly posted the following->
Request letter duly signed by applicant to add your child in your file
· Notarized copy of the child's birth certificate
· Copy of your child's valid passport including blank pages
· 04 Passport size photographs of your dependent child
· Visa processing fee for CAD$ 150/- in favor of Receiver General for Canada payable at Toronto
· Updated Proof of funds for 03 family members (i.e. CAD$ 18,097)
· Updated Generic form and Additional Family Information Form including the details of your child.

They added all the details to his file, once they open it tey had all the details and within a few days they sent newborns MR request to him. (as infants do not need to submit PCC or RPRF).

Suggest u contact him to know further...Good luck!!
Seniors pls reply further....:)

No need to worry. Sometimes they take more time for verification.

My advice: Do not email them asking for anything.

Ok...so u can always track ur items on IPS Web tracking (http://ipsweb.ptcmysore.gov.in/ipswebtracking/)

So once ur item reaches india...track using the above link. Once in india Canada post does not play any role..they may or may not update it online.

And in future avoid Canada post for international delivery... If normal address then use UPS if Post box then use DTDC and only in worst case use Canada post..Just my advice

Good luck
