Thanks for sharing your GCMS notes

Just one question your file has been transferred to VO on Jan 16th when you got a PER on 14 Dec. Does that mean that my file which got itself a PER on Dec 5th would have undergone all these process before or are they transferring it on a random basis.

Reason i asked is i am still waiting for second line update/MR

Regards
i've got similar timeline as u, hoping to get at least 2nd line within this week :(

Dear All,

I just received the 3 passports for me & my family, stamped with Immigration Visa. I've received the COPR for the 3 of us (me, wife & son).

Only problem, my son holds a US passport (we don't), he didn't receive any visa print-out/stamp into his passport!! What does that mean??

A question to all FSW2014 with US passports, did you receive visa stamp/printout to your passport.

Please respond urgently.

Good luck to everyone.

After landing in Canada and getting PR, can our parents come to us on visitor visa after two to three months ?

Yes. One can apply through Parents and Grandparent Super Visa.
Please browse through below link for more information.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/supervisa.asp
Determine your eligibility

To apply for the parent and grandparent super visa, you must:

be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada,
be allowed to enter Canada and
meet certain other conditions.
Note: You cannot include dependants in this application. Only your spouse or common-law partner can come with you under this visa.

Visa officers consider several things before they decide if you can come to Canada. You must be a real visitor to Canada who will leave by choice at the end of your visit. A visa officer will look at these things when you apply:

your ties to your home country,
the purpose of your visit,
your family and finances,
the overall economic and political stability of your home country, and
an invitation from a Canadian host.
You must also:

prove that your child or grandchild in Canada meets a minimum income threshold,
provide a written statement from that child or grandchild that he or she will give you financial support,
have valid Canadian medical insurance coverage for at least one year and
have an immigration medical exam.

Also, read this
How does the parent and grandparent super visa differ from a visitor visa?

Currently, most visitors to Canada may visit for up to six months when they first enter Canada. Visitors who wish to stay longer must apply for an extension, and pay a new fee.

With the parent and grandparent super visa, eligible parents and grandparents can visit family in Canada for up to two years without the need to renew their status.

The Super Visa is a multi-entry visa that provides multiple entries for a period up to 10 years. The key difference is that the Super Visa allows an individual to stay for up to two years on initial entry into Canada, while a 10-year multiple entry visa would only have a status period for each entry of six months only.

There are also specific requirements that you must meet to be able to get a super visa. See the CIC website for who can apply for a grandparent super visa or Who is eligible for a parent and grandparent super visa?

Hi All,

I just want some help/ comments on my PR information. I actually got my request from NDVO for Medical Test in Nov 2014.

I did my Medical Test in Dec 2014 and submitted the documents along with Landing fees in Dec 2014.

So, can anyone suggest me on how much time, it will take for my Passport Request (PPR) from NDVO.

Please revert ASAP.

Thanks...

Congrats on your PPR's.
US is a visa expempt country for Canada.
Please find below the write up on their site and the link.

Country: United States citizens and permanent residents
You do not need a visa to visit or transit in Canada if you are a United States citizen or a person lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence who is in possession of their alien registration card (Green card) or can provide other evidence of permanent residence.

Carry proper travel documents and identification
While you may not need a visa to visit or transit Canada, you still need to:

Show an immigration officer that you satisfy all other requirements to enter Canada. For instance, you may need a medical exam before arriving. If you do not meet all the requirements, you may not be allowed to enter.
Carry proper travel documents and identification for yourself and any children travelling with you. Visit the Canada Border Services Agency website for more information.

THERE ARE THREE WAYS...EACH ONE CAN BE USED PROGRESSIVELY

1. APPLY FOR VISITOR VISA AFTER YOU SECURE JOB AND CAN SHOW THEIR STAY EXPENSES. VISITOR VISA IS 10 YEARS MULTIPLE VISA (YOU DONT HAVE TO APPLY FOR IT AGAIN TILL EXPIRY OF 10 YEARS OR DATE OF EXPIRY OF PASSPORT). BUT A SINGLE STAY IS MAXIMUM FOR 6 MONTHS.

2. APPLY FOR SUPER VISA FOR PARENTS AFTER AT LEAST ONE YEAR OF YOUR STAY AND AFTER YOU ARE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE LOWER INCOME CUT OFF (LICO) WHICH VARIES WITH THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS IN YOUR FAMILY IN CANADA PLUS THE PERSON/(S) YOU ARE INVITING. SUPER VISA ALLOWS TO STAY FOR MAXIMUM 2 YEARS AND IS ALSO A MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA.

3. APPLY TO SPONSOR YOUR PARENT/(S) AFTER AT LEAST 5 YEARS AS PER CURRENT GUIDELINES. SINCE YOU HAVE TO DEMONSTRATE LICO + 30% FOR PAST 3 YEARS.

I HOPE IT EXPLAINS

As your Son is US national so he does not require a Canada visa, his passport shall be stamp at airport and he can stay in canada for as long as he wants.
May be this is the case.
