Wow, that's an excellent analysis! I guess we should not even bother to check ECAS for second line update before 90 days at least.

+1 for your efforts!

I'm awaiting MR from LVO, and have tried to predict when it will come. Perhaps a slightly academic exercise, but something to keep the mind occupied :)

1. Out of 713 LVO applicants in the spreadsheet, 340 have received PERs
2. Out of these 340, MRs have been reported by 96, and I estimate a FURTHER 55 have received MRs but NOT updated the spreadsheet (these are people whose last spreadsheet was prior to 1st Oct)
3. For those who have reported MRs, the average # of days since PER date is 67 days, and the standard deviation of this is 29 days
4. Assuming this is a normal distribution, 68% of applicants should MRs within 96 days of PER (1 std dev), and 95% of applicants within 125 days (2 std devs)

Attached spreadsheet shows this data filtered for LVO applicants who have received PER, and sorted by PER date. For those MRs which I assume have been received but not updated in the spreadsheet, I have filled the MR date as "Likely received" and shaded those rows similar blue to the MR cases.

Yes, it's often safe to get an X-ray during pregnancy. The level of safety depends on the type of X-ray you need and exactly how much radiation you're going to be exposed to.

Most diagnostic X-rays don't expose the fetus to high enough levels of radiation to cause a problem. It is true, though, that the greater your exposure is to radiation, the greater the risk could be to your baby.

While fetal exposure over 10 rads (the unit of measurement for absorbed radiation) has been shown to increase the risks for mental retardation and eye abnormalities, you needn't worry. It's rare for a single X-ray or group of diagnostic X-rays to exceed 5 rads.

For example, the amount of radiation that a baby gets from a mother's dental X-ray is only 0.01 millirad. Since a rad is equal to 1,000 millirads, one would have to have 100,000 dental X-rays for the baby to receive just one rad. Other estimated fetal doses are 60 millirads for a chest X-ray

So it is upon you to decide.

All the best

Regards
Aanchal

Hi,

My wife is also pregnant but she's only 1 month pregnant now. We recieved PER 9-Jan-15 and we are still waiting for MR, maybe it will come by march or april. So it is still possible that we can proceed for our medical even though my wife is still 4 months pregnant by that time? Thanks

Hello all seniors members of this blog...(Saki..u too plz)

I have filed my application on 12th June 2014, and received my PER on 29 Nov 2014, got msg as your file is processing since 08 dec 2014.

Than onward no updates i received...Already 57 days has passed...and some of same category candidate received second AOR and medical too. (It seems injustice)

My worry is I have booked my tickets for USA in end of May 2015. Now how to proceed with passport? even if medical and PCC would done before May end and if embassy ask for our passport for stamping than how can I travel to USA?

My category is 4011.

Please advice me or give some info...if you have...specially how to manage passport...Do I need to mail at NDVO? if yes what to mail ...

Thanks in advance.

@dems

With advanced X-Ray machinery the risks are low plus u can always arrange 2 protection jackets (usually 1 is used for expectant mothers) to minimize the risk. However, i personally think that even 0.0000001% chance of anythingh which can impact the child for his lifetime is not worth taking even for the sake of immigration, let alone 5-6 months delay.

Having said that, u can also consult with the Dr. if its better to have it now (1 month pregnancy) or after 3-4 months. If its safer now, u can do the medicals now and send them to VO, they will be attached to ur file. This way, ur "Medical Received" line will appear before " started processing" line. Some of the candidates (1 NDVO -- submitted medical along with initial app & 1 CPC-O guy submitted medical after PER). Both have got the visa.

But weight Pro's n Con's of medical of expectant mother.
