Hi Puneet,

I guess that your application will take time till end of Jan 2015 or Upto middle of Feb to get File number. Over all process may go till April / May 2015. Not earlier than that with the current trend. Once after you do medicals, the Visa will be issued with the validity of one year regardless of any other changes happening (like getting married or to include a new born or death of a family member) . If you fail to land within that period, you loose all the work you have done. So, think plan and decide.

On the 5th of January, 2015.

this means we get the PR with one year validity to land then after that the it got renewed for five years or what actually the rules now. from what i know you got the visa 5 years validity and you have 6 months to land

You messed up everything.

Visa to land is valid for a year since the date of X-rays test (usually).
PR does not expires ever IF only you get Canadian Citizenship or breach the rule of "2 of 5" years of presence in Canada. PR Card ("plastic") is NOTHING to do with the validity of IMMIGRATION STATUS of PR.

I GOT A LETTER FROM CENTRALIZED INTAKE OFFICE TODAY 23RD DECEMBER, 2014(I GUESS IT IS THE PER) STATING THAT "YOUR APPLICATION HAS RECEIVED POSITIVE DETERMINATION OF ELIGIBILITY TO BE PROCESSED ON THE BASIS OF .....
HOWEVER, IT NOW PUTS THIS IN THE FOLLOWING LINE
"Applications previously destined for Abidjan, Ivory Coast will now be transferred to Dakar, Senegal. Your application therefore will be transferred to the visa office in Dakar."
I AM AFRAID AS THE VISA OFFICE I CHOOSE IS MEXICO AND I CLEARLY INDICATED THIS ON MY FORM. PLEASE GUYS WHAT CAN I DO TO INFORM CIC ABOUT THIS OR IS THIS A STANDARD INFORMATION IN ALL LETTERS ISSUED TODAY 23RD DECEMBER, 2014.

Is it a general infomration or they really trasnfered my file to Senegal visa office?

I am residing in India and applied from India.

How can CIC do this?

the new IMM008 has no option of selecting visa office - files have been routed based on inventory and d-memo..
applicant has no control over which vo to choose anymore

Dont Panic!

The message means people whose applications were to be processed in Abidjan, Ivory Coast will now be transferred to Dakar, Senegal.

Other applicants will be processed in the respective VO's

This is my understanding of the message.

My PER mail did not contain any particular visa office name!!

Is it mean it will be forwarded to NDVO?

If not forwarded to local vo, then hw will they check employment verification and settlement fund verification??
