Federal Skilled Worker Class
Cap on the number of applications to be processed
A maximum of 25 500 new complete applications submitted for the Federal Skilled Worker Class, without an offer of arranged employment, will be considered for processing for the period of May 1, 2014, to April 30, 2015, unless otherwise indicated in a future Ministerial Instruction.

Well, these MIs are not up to date and have been overriden by new regulations. Program ends on Dec. 31, 2014. No speculation.

Dear Friends,

I am in the process of filling forms under 3112. Been stuck for past few months in gathering documents and so exhausted now. Hope I am not affected by the caps. I have a few questions while filling the forms and need your suggestion.

1. My mother's birth certificate only mentions her given name and no family name. In the Background form, they are asking for mother's family name at birth. What do i write here? If i leave it blank, then i do not meet the condition of filling all sections. Any experienced seniors who faced the same?

2. I have got half a dozen documents translated. However the translator issued me a single affidavit (he wrote that he has translated A-G documents and asked me to write A,B,C....G on the documents. However, while reading the guide i came across this:
Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified copy of the original document.

What i am getting from this is that each document must be accompanied by an affidavit, however, the translator was confident that one affidavit is enough so he did not give me individual affidavits. Will it be fine?

3. While filling the Sched 3 Economic Classes form, i have a couple of jobs that are less than 1 year. However, there is no space mentioning less than 1 year. What is the way out for this?

Unfortunately, i have reached at that stage of the application process where time is really short and i have all the other things ready in hand except the reference letter. My boss has clearly refused me for issuing any kind of such letter. Now iam really worried that what could be the possible way out in this situation. Really need your help seniors on prompt basis.

Hi Ksa,

For Noc 2281, The count is 493(completed) + 222 (Pending waiting MI review).

The latest CC Charge is Oct 7 for NOC 2281 .Does it mean Completeness check is completed for applicants till Oct 31 and those appln till Oct 31 are included in the cap count of 222.

So it does mean they have taken the application recd till Oct 7 under the count - 222.

Self reference letter won't help you, i saw many applicants got rejected due to this. I strongly recommend you to get reference letter from your BOSS OR colleague. Try to find someone in your office to get it.

What r the option if i dont have birth certificate .... And also no parent name on secondary school certificate , parents name is on 10+2 certificate .

Get affidavit from your parent's stating your name,date of birth and place of birth information.

Try to work it out buddy. This is the starting phase of FSW2014 and when you land in Canada there may or for me yes will be many situations like this.

So try to convince and explain them about the situation and get your thing done. Just don't give up buddy.

Mithani, I wish you are right... There are so many potential applicants who are stuck one way or another.... However the instructions you are referring to is dated 26 April 2014 and as per the latest I info on cic website, the last date to apply under the current set of rules is 31 Dec 2014. One can however apply after 31 Dec 2014 but that will be processed under the rules set forth under Express Entry Program for Skilled Workers. All the best to you.

These Instructions repeal, as of January 1, 2015, the Ministerial Instructions issued pursuant to section 87.3 of the IRPA and published in the Canada Gazette on April 26, 2014, for the management of applications in the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class. For greater clarity, the repeal does not affect the processing of applications received prior to January 1, 2015, and considered under previous Ministerial Instructions issued pursuant to section 87.3, including the Instructions published in the Canada Gazette on April 26, 2014.

Since Oct 7 is the latest CC charge date for NOC 2281 , so apps that passed c-check but not CC charged can include apps till Oct 31.
This is just my guess. Pls let me know your thoughts
