They are issuing...not ours.....ryt now they r clearing the backlogs of FSW2013....

Hi VR8,

The one year or less time is not to settle its the duration during which you need to land.. After landing you will get actual PR Card.. Similar to Credit Card 8) As per CIC website you can get PR Card in 3 to 4 weeks after landing.. You do not have to apply separately for PR Card.... Though you will have to apply for SIN similar to SSN in USA or can say Adhar card of India which will be unique number for you in Canada for your whole lifetime.. To settle down there is no limit of duration.. That's why they ask for proof of fund.. And the PR Card is valid for 5 years generally and if you will live 3 years (1095 Days) in past 4 years then you can apply for citizenship.. So, if your MR is done on say Yesterday (1st Dec 2014) then you can land on 30th November 2015.. Offcourse no one will wait for the last day but I have just explained to clear the confusion that its about landing not settling..

I still feel that going to Canada , even for the first time requires lot of preparation. Example, everyone will prefer to have a job before reaching Canada and hence require time to search for it. Also, one has to think about continuing existing job or not.. if not then proper notice has to be given to current employer, and then if you are married and spouse is working, then there are more parameters to consider.

All in all, I feel even for the first time visit to Canada, 6 months preparation time is less than adequate.. Hence it is important for visa to be issued as early as possible after MR.. (Though I understand its not in our hands).

Hence, I believe because of the delay between MR and PPR, there comes lot of unnecessary stress on applicants at a later stage.

I wish that NDVO wakes up and starts issuing PPRs soon..

How come FSW 2013 backlog is being cleared till Dec-2014..??

Personally, I dont find any logic.

And if there is some logic.....let me guess...how long it wll take to clear backlog of FSW 2014 which has already begun to built up??

Would we get time of just around 1 month to land before our validity of Visa???

Please dont take it as contradiction to your statement but somehow I always get confused when I hear this word "backlog of FSW 2013"

Frankly no1 knows what a VO is doing- everybody is making their best guess.

Last year my brother applied for a student Visa- He sent his PP to NDVO and did not receive any revert on it for 5 months and then he got the PP back with Visa stamped. This year I applied for a visitor visa- I got my PP back in 3 days with Multiple entry visitor visa till validity of my PP which is till 2017 ....its mysterious the ways of VO working....

So all we can do is wait /....wait ....and wait....

I am in the same boat as you thinking of quitting the job ....but you and me both know its not logical

Just a personal POV : as per SS , majority of the September applicants are of NOC 2171, 2172, 2173, 2174 .
may be that's why we don't see a lot of CC/DD charging these days
