Report: The 10 hottest job markets in Canada

By analyzing the behavior of its roughly ten million Canadian users, the team at LinkedIn has created a report on the country's most active job markets as well as the most sought-after skills by employers.

This is calculated by the number of people getting hired by region and skillset. The ‘most active' markets are those cities that saw the greatest percentage of users changed jobs in the past year. LinkedIn calculates the most desirable skills similarly by the proportion of users who have that skill and changed jobs within the past 12 months.

So based on these numbers, if you're a mobile app developer in Calgary, your chances of landing a new gig seem pretty good.

10 most active job markets in Canada
(The percentage indicates the proportion of LinkedIn members who were hired for a new job in the last year.)

1. Calgary (8.6%)
2. Toronto (7.2%)
3. Vancouver (7%)
4. Halifax (7%)
5. Kitchener (7%)
6. Montreal (6.8%)
7. Edmonton (6.7%)
8. Ottawa (6.3%)
9. London (5.4%)
10. Winnipeg (4.9%)

The 10 most sought-after skills in Canada
(The percentage indicates the LinkedIn members with this skill who were hired for a new job.)

1. Mobile application development (30.4%) [View jobs]
2. Software revision control systems (27.2%) [View jobs]
3. Social media marketing (27.1%) [View jobs]
4. Economics (26.1%) [View jobs]
5. Programming languages (Perl/Python/Ruby) (24.8%) [View jobs]
6. Computer graphics and animation (23.7%) [View jobs]
7. Software code debugging (23.6%) [View jobs]
8. Data presentation (23%) [View jobs]
9. Statistical analysis and data mining (22.7%) [View jobs]
10. User interface design (22.5%) [View jobs]

These tend to be very white collar and technical, and that likely reflects more on the demographics of LinkedIn's user base than the overall Canadian job market.

We've seen several other studies recently that indicated a high demand for developers and web designers of all stripes. However research done based on online job posting and other sources combined show that many other vocations are sought after right now, such as registered nurses, truck drivers, cooks, and bilingual service providers. (Click on the job type to view available opportunities on Workopolis.)

Read the complete list of the most sought-after skills in Canada based on analysis of online job postings.

Yes that means that you don't have enough money..
can you please tell what proof of funds have you provided and how much.. also can you provide you time line as i could not find you in spreadsheet..!!

Thanks
Thanks. Actually it is not about me. During googling about "Substituted Evaluation" which is one of the measure that officers in Visa Office might use while evaluating your documents. This gentlment who got this message has provided the evidence of having sufficient amount in his bank accounts with his application.
Despite of the fact they have rejected, by mentioning this sentence, despite of having 67-points.

May be they are studying all of the factors like your qualification and whether you have been working for a sufficient number of years etc. But really I could not understand. There can be only two reasons:-
1)- Money
2)-Ability to find a job after reaching in canada

If someone on the forum has different opinion please share.

Everyone please read Subsituted Evaluation section on CIC official manual from the following link:-

Sorry to dears ones, whose names i have forget to mention here.

Lets Hurry for days coming closer where we will be taking a Shovel and clearing our walk way out of SNOW.
I am wondering why there isn't only 12 hours instead 24 in a day, as my clock reads only 12 hours, which can make me more close to the destination.
You are a valuable asset to the forum, thanks for being around and for such nice words. :) (+1 pending due to karma)

August is being charged, CC gets charged swiftly due to nature of instrument and DD takes +- 15/20 days. Hence, keep your ear open for the good news and do share the update when you get any :)

Dear MBA from Pakistan = Canadian Bach 3 years.
I have Engineering and MBA , they have evaluated.
WES is right about evaluation, as admission requirement for MBA is Bach 2 years.
Our education system is not consistent about admission requirement of MBA. Its so confusing.
Sorry for delayed comment. But here I would like to clarify that new education qualification framework of HEC is completely in compliance with International Standards. Secondly I have done my MBA after completing MCS. And the pre-requisite for this MBA was 16-years of non-business education. And it took 2.5 years to complete this MBA. Even HEC have issued the equivalency certificate stating that this MBA is equivalent to MPhil in Business Administration (18-Years of schooling) in Pakistan. By the way Comparative Education Services CEC University of Tornoto is accepting MPhil of Pakistan equivalent to Canadian Masters Degree.

For HEC new initiatives visit following link for Pakistan Qualification Framwork:-

Only the docs which are not in English or French are mandatory to be notarized and should also be accompanied by a certified translation.

If your educational certificates are in English, you can send plain photocopies without notarization.
