It is another instance of poor wording on CIC website. In fact they DO acknowledge expired PCC for countries you never went back to.

Seems logical. If a person has never entered the soils of the foreign country again, why should he take a fresh PCC? the old PCC should be fine.
But no idea if CIC considers this. If they do, great !!

I dont think that is what CIC looking for.

What CIC needs is:
1) If you apply along with the initial application, it must be less than 3 months old
2) If you supply PCC at later stage based on VO request, It must be less than 1 year old (It is clearly mentioned that , PCC's are valid for one year.

But Risk Pays off..!
There is nothing wrong to add expired PCC.if they accepts well and good, otherwise they will request new PCC again 8)

My dd charged on 4 nov and got PER today. And i have read some post who application reached on 17 july and they got PER day before yesterday. So dnt wory u wil get it

Thank you CanOl and Diplomatru. The thing is I may request an extension to FBI because i will not get it in time and that is why I may send those documents in the next few days and I do not want to wait until the last minute for my home country police certificate deadline hoping I would get FBI report. ( I got the same deadline for both my home country and FBI)

Any suggestions

Ideally better to send docs together for MR, RPRF and PCC request.

I am happy to announce the the arrival of my golden PER Email . Thanks all my friends here for your assistance.

Couple of things

1: I took 3 Separate DD ( 550+550+150) as the bank was requesting lot of things for one single 1250 DD
2. I don't have a birth certificate - Provided Notarized SELF AFFIDAVIT + Notarized Secondary School certificate
3. Provided HDFC bank Letter ( Did not provide a full Bank Statement) + FD
4. Forgot to mention the date on on which the photo was taken
5. Provided PCC that was issued by Passport sevakendra
6. Graduation ( IN BA History) and Job experience are different but do have certifications

Best things you can do reduce the pain of waiting

1. Send an Email to CIC after 6 or 7 Weeks and request them for UCI number
2. When you call up CIC call center, never ask them for the Status update, Instead come up with stories stating you would like to have ur UCI number etc- Develop Social Engineering Skulls
3. CIC call center has access to all your details.

Those who have not received PER and has a valid Card charge /DD encash

1. Check your ECAS status, use full name if surname does not work- Can you access
2. if yes, Call CIC help line and tell them that you have access to your application status but not sure whether you have received a PER email .( I did yesterday , within seconds I received my email). They would leave a note- thats what they told me - . Be very nice to them ,its a tough job answering tons of calls
3. Those who don't have UCI number - Call CIC and ask them for UCI number . tell them you don't need application status and you need only UCI number to check the status of your application online or send some updated documents

Those who could see ECAS and not now:

1. Call CIC help line and tell them. then they would send an Email and request you to send the detail. Generally you get a response in a single day. I had the email but not sure how I got it deleted from my inbox.

Here we go again...

I applied with 2011 PCC for 2014 SP application and they acknowledged it. Several users in this thread reported that VOs gave credit for expired certificates too under FSW program (LVO, Paris VO). I won't argue or insist that it's the way to go, but it worked for me and it is logical. I can give you a link to OP 572 CLEARLY saying that application is to be rejected if wrong VO selected. But it doesn't happen. There is a guide, but there is common sense too, and CIC is not deprived of the latter most of the time.

Just wanna share this for 2173 - August applicants (to give hope and inspiration)...


I was able to talk with a fellow Pinoy in FB group and he has same experience as mine. He was a 2174 - June 20 (DD mode) applicant. When 2174 reached 1000 capacity, he got worried because last charging was June 19 and he didn't know the status of his application if included in the 1000 cap. After 2 weeks, he emailed LVO (Manila - VO) to inquire about his status and had known that his application is already In-Transit to the Visa Office. Also, he got his UCI number.

As per conversation with him, the update for 2174 (Oct 10 - with June 19 as last charged date) even reached the date of July 4 applicants. This means that August applicants has hope for PER as long as no problems with the documents.

I am an Aug 13 and the last charge date for 2173 is Aug 12. I hope this helps to all 2173 who's like me a worried pal. ;D

I want to upload my timeline on SS, but before doing that I would like to change my username. Based on it, what is the best option? Should I delete the existing one and then create another ID or request to a senior update Dee existing one instead?
