Thanks Neeraj, I called this number, but could not connect to the call center guy, it was ONLY taking me through automated options ..
Appreciate if you can let me know, if I missed any options or is there anything specific to connect to the staff.

Kind Regards

Friends from India,
Need you help. For the circumstances I find myself in, I know I need to do my own thinking and I will.
But could you please PM me with your perspectives so that I can make an informed and well thought out decision?

I have a globally ranked MBA from the UK (25th in global Financial Times ranking of worldwide MBA programs, ironically 2 positions higher than IIMA PGPX) but could not make the most out of it as the B-school brand so reputed in the UK does not directly translate to Indian MBA career scenarios. In the hope of having a jump start in my career, I applied to IIMA PGPX this year and have an admit offer but a second MBA appears to be an overkill specifically given the costs (fee of 25 lacs plus opportunity cost of not working = 15 lacs).

I got my PR on 28th Oct for NOC 2171. And I have not wanted anything so desperately as I now want a Canadian PR. Even if I get a PR, it would of course be a tough ask to find an interesting career but I am very much willing to put in all the effort and get thru' any difficulties. But the IIMA offer feels too good to resist as I can get to a better position and pay grade with an Indian employer and travel abroad on work; may be 2 years from now. Hence, the dilemma.

I am 35, and work in IT (SAP consulting) for an Indian MNC. Have worked in 2 EU countries (an year each) but feel that I am way behind people of similar age group in India in terms career accomplishments and the level of business leadership roles/positions held. There is no option to defer my admit offer and if I take it with the resulting liabilities I won't be able to fulfill proof of funds requirements.

I am almost inclined towards chasing the Canadian dream but am open to weigh pros and cons.
Thanks a lot for your help and as always you guys and girls rock :)

Look forward to receiving your inputs and as we share the same dream of making a life in Canada, I thought you guys are in the best position to understand and help me.

Best regards,
Kishcanada

Well..firstly, congrats on your IIMA-PGPX offer. It is not an easy thing to achieve.
As you have already done an MBA, I don't suggest you to go for IIMA PGPX.
I would have suggested this even if you did not apply for canada PR.
I know people who graduated from ISB and IIMA PGPX. Except for a little boost in the salary package, I don't see them doing any kick-ass jobs. An ISB guy told me that in his daily job routine, he is not even using 10% of what he learned.
With those 25 lakhs, u can actually start your own company and run it for a couple of years. Even if you fail, you will end up learning much more. Just a thought.
Please note that my advice is only not to go for MBA. That does not mean I am advising you to go and settle in canada by hook or crook. That is a decision left to you. Because this is a Canadian immigration forum, you will find quite a few canada crazy people who are ready to settle there by slogging it out from scratch. It is probably the best decision in their life at this point of time. It might not be applicable to everyone.

Congratulations and Celebrations :-p

my immigration mates.....those who are paying via DD.......and still waiting for the charge..........while their mates paying through CC are announcing good news.......please don't get upset, I myself was DD user, yes it takes time, on average it takes 2 to 3 weeks more than CC payments (depends on each case), have faith in All Mighty and always be prepared for the good news.

I know and understand the pain of waiting....ok lets have some good news for u guys.....that is one thing is sure that you guys will never ever hear or get the followings:

1. the message that CIC tried to charge ur payment and it was refused!
2. that the bank is going to replace ur current cards in next 2 months due to some s h I t happened in their security systems
3. u wont have to be worried for how limit of transaction your card allows.
4. you will never have to call the bank to allow international transaction ESPECIALLY from CANADA!
5. you will never have to increase your payment limits
6. you will not hold your nerves all the time to get good news SMS
7. you wont have to be tensed all the time that whether or not your payment was made or refused! (that might give u BP problem!)

All you will ever hear and get is the following for sure (if everything goes alright with ur app)

1. ECAS updated, PER received and 1st line added to ur ECAS!

so just chill out......out of these 7 things u have to do only one thing.....wait and wait with faith.

in no way this message was an offence for CC users, :D
