A bank won't disclose your account details to third parties. It is the LAW.

But the VO can ask you to provide your statements or authorize the bank to talk to them. And if you don't, that would look bad.

First thing first, that joke was posted by me, poor Future_Canadian has nothing to do with it.

Besides, your language is too harsh. If you don't like something, you need to learn to express it politely if you wish to integrate into a western society like Canada.

That joke explicitly mentioned that it wasn't intended to offend anyone. It didn't say anything about Nigerians, or about any individual or group or race. We all know we get emails about million dollar lottery fairly regularly asking for "only few hundred dollars" for transfer costs etc. Many of them are representing someone from Nigeria
but every country has fraudulent and criminal activities going on, including Canada so I don't see anything wrong in making a joke on a criminal activity and the joke was about the activity not about a person or a group so I don't consider it to be disrespectful.

Apologies to Future_canadian,@ Jaxon whether caveat is attached to such joke it don't exempt it from being distasteful,just be mindful of what u joke about...

Where are you working in SA? I too am here on a Work Permit in Johannesburg (working for Huawei Technologies at CellC) for the past 3 years. I showed proof of funds both in my Citibank account back in India (in INR) as well as in my FNB account here in South Africa (in ZAR). My immigration consultant showed both the accounts funds in one combined table after converting them Canadian dollars.
