you need to send your job duties & qualication required to perform it to the email "noc-cnp @ workingincanada.gc.ca"
They will revert back within a month(most likely 15 days). Below is one of the reply I received for my query.
Hello andy John,
The following is the response to your request for assistance (reference #XXXXX):
Based on the information that you have provided, the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) code may be appropriate for the occupation that you described. Please verify the link below to ensure that the education, main duties and employment requirements correspond to your occupation. You are in a better position to determine whether or not this NOC code reflects your job.
NOC code 2132 - Mechanical engineers:
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2132
However, please note that engineering occupations are regulated in Canada; therefore, you will need to verify your accreditation with the appropriate regulatory body for the Province or Territory you will have chosen in Canada.
To do so, you need to visit the Job Bank (JB) Web site. To do a search, follow these steps:
1. Go to the Job Bank Web site http://www.jobbank.gc.ca
2. Under the “Explore Careers” section on the right hand side, choose the option: “Occupation”
3. In the “Occupation” box, type: job title, keywords or the National Occupational Classification (NOC) code
4. In the “City or Postal Code” box, type: name of city or postal code
5. Click “Search”
Then select the "Education & Job Requirements" button and then select the link for the province. Under the “Provincial/Territorial Regulation” section, you will find the name and contact information of the regulatory body responsible for the particular location you will have chosen. It is important for you to be aware that if you want to work in a regulated occupation and use a regulated title, you must have a license or a certificate or be registered with the appropriate regulatory body.
In addition, please note that the final decision for selecting the most appropriate National Occupational Classification (NOC) code is each individual's responsibility as you know your education, skills and abilities better than anyone else. However, the ultimate decision remains the responsibility of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) as they are the only ones who have the authority to determine if the information provided meets their criteria. Our role is only to provide guidance.
