On a side note: I wish I were a Petroleum Engineer. Had I been one, I would have had all the time in the world to apply for the FSW (NO applications have been received in the category yet). Since Canada has a booming oil industry, I would have been virtually assured a job. To top that, pay isn't bad at all for Petroleum Engineers:

I guess it's now a bit too late to change careers :(

Thx for your prompt reply. So, for UCI, fax number, alternate telephone number, expiry date of national card, PO Box, and postal code, these fields are not applicable to me and are not greyed out, I have to write N/A on all these fields by hand after printing, is that right?

You don't have to. But you may, if you think CIC might misconstrue otherwise.

Regards

Looks like a lost wishing opportunity. If you set out to wish, why not wish for being an oil-well owner, rather than being an engineer at the well. ;)

Technically, you should write anything on IMM0008 after validating it as barcode are generated based on info you provided.

UCI#: Leave it blank as VO will write it down for you.
Fax no: Leave it blank
Alternate telephone no: Write same no as primary phone no.(thats what I did as I have no alternate no) or leave it blank
Expiration date of National Card: Should be greyed out if you have selected does not apply, or if you have provided info then write N/A after printing that form(as writing N/A make more sense to me rather than leaving it blank)
PO Box: Leave it blank
Postal Code: I think most of the address has postal code, but if you dont have one then write N/A after printing form (to avoid any confusion )

Hope this helps

if you are a pet engineer and you work with a multinational, u will most likely not care about fsw since no job is guaranteed. most people in this category will only move via the arranged employment scheme. I guess this why no one is applying yet.

Hi,

I was verifying my form and having one query.

In Generic Form (IMM0008), Under "Education/Occupation Details" for questions #3 i need to fill in with my current designation (i mean Project Engineer) details or with the NOC description for which i am applying?

For Question # 4, intended occupation will be NOC description i.e. Mechanical Engineer,

Please correct me on these two questions.

thank you in advance.

Please correct me on these two questions.

Seniors Pls advise...

On generic form IMM0008, should I just leave BLANK for those not applicable fields but not greyed out (eg UCI no, fax no,etc) and all greyed out fields?? Or I should put N/A for them after printing??

You can leave them blank as well

Guys! I m a newbie, and need help. I have 2 questions:

1- What do you provide for the proof of 2 years of post graduate study in Canada to get the 5 points of adaptability? It was not on the check list; there is only one for phd stream applicants. What should I provide and where should I mention in the check list that I have provided that so that they will not miss it? (there s no check box for that)

2- Will my birth certificate translation have to be recent? mine is 3 years old.

I'd appreciate ur help
cheers

Dear erfan,

Just check question 6a option and include transcripts with degree certificate and also include the papers as per checklist
This is their prerogative to grant you 5 points for this.
Mind this means you have earlier records with them and you details in application shall match with them.
