I was told its tough to get student visa now as I already applied for FSW.

in short...can u outline the process to get a student visa. Thanks !

See, this is immigration forum. We also have a forum called international students. You may check that for details.

In short for student visa, which is also a temporary visa like visitor visa::
You should not have a big gap in education. You should have a strong reason to study, and your course should be aligned with past academics.

If you already have applied for PR, just be dam honest while applying for student visa. Those people come to know the color of our underwear too.

Since already applying for PR, its obvious that you have an intention to stay back in Canada, and hence temporary visa like student gets rejected. In this case, you need to prepare strong Statement of Purpose. (SOP)

I took 2 months just to prepare a 1.5 A4 size content of SOP. I showed my content to mature professionals, college students, strangers walking on street, to get their opinion to actually finalize it. I knew I am heading for something big amongst millions in the globe applying for this dream destination, so i wanted to put more efforts ...

Download FSW 2014 SS. Then sort it according to NOC 1123. You will see total applicant who has applied under NOC 1123. :)

Done! Thanks

Thanks a bunch !

But does that mean, even if i mention ottawa, the CIO can/may decide to send the case to new delhi ?

If you have Proper authorization to stay in States for 1 year from the day you application is received at CIO (just to be on safe side ) then they cannot change your VO to NDVO.

Immigration Office requested for the processing of your application

Indicate the name of the Immigration Office which serves:

your country of nationality, or
the country in which you are residing, provided that you have been lawfully admitted to that country for at least one (1) year.

So in your case you can select CPC-Ottawa or NDVO. But I would suggest you go with CPC-O.

Yes you can. I did same thing. Just mark those envelopes attach it with blank paper (with paperclip) and place it where it is asked according to Document checklist.

I have a question...I applied FSW for myself and dependent for my wife. I got 1 UCI number in the PER email. But in one of the chat in this forum, that person got two UCI numbers (1 for him and 1 for his spouse). Is that correct. Please provide some details about this

That may be possible if him and his wife applied as principal applicants in two different applications

got it ! the issue is on our usa visa expiry is april 2015 and as a matter of fact we know it will be extended further for 3 years. but how to document the fact and let CIO know is my concern

hope i am not risking the entire application process opting for ottawa :(

Boyz and Girlzzz...
Got my PER finally ;D ;D!!!!!
The game is on!!!
@ Century - You were right...CC charge is not sequential to PER.

DETAILS:
7th may applicant
CC charge date : 12th June
PER : 11 Aug
NOC:2171

Not sure how to update the spreadsheet...Can somebody make an entry pls!!

It appears in most cases its sequential as we have learnt from study of Spread sheet over the years, however some applications take longer time to receive PER because further investigation is required on them, most likely on any of the documents submitted.

Please accept my Sincere Congrats! on your PER, Wish you the very best on other Steps.
