See I ll tell you the case...M currently working as a sole HR handling a centre of 200 people. handling everything from joining to exit of my centre...basically the role is of a manager only as another HR of another centre is designated as HR Manager. so if u see the roles we both are managing a centre independently but she is a manager as she is more experienced and m an executive as I hv less number of yrs of exp..
Why dont you make a list of ur duties and your designation with ur educational qualification to noc-cnp @ workingincanada.gc.ca

They will be the best judge. Ofcourse its ultimately Visa officers final decision but at least u will get a reply from CIC...

I had sent a similar request to them...there is a content in their email which should be good for you...

The National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes are determined by the Skill Type and Skill Level. The Skill Type represents the type of work performed as well as the general industry of employment, in order to easily indicate the segment of the world of work. The Skill Level represents the education required to perform the work. However, the NOC does recognize the fact that most jobs require multitasking or performing more than one duty. As a result there is a 51% rule that can be used as a guideline. Simply put, 51% of the job functions must be contained in the main duties of the selected NOC description.

The final decision for selecting the most appropriate National Occupational Classification (NOC) code is each individual's responsibility as you know your education, skills and abilities better than anyone else. However, the ultimate decision remains the responsibility of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) as they are the only ones who have the authority to determine if the information provided meets their criteria.

Hope this helps. So its a combination of ur duties and qualification that make u qualified for the particular NOC

If I don't get the PER email today : @
I'll check tomorrow :(
Coz that's only what I can do.
Why is it causing so much delay?
Any May 7 applicant got PER plz raise ur hand. :p
Hehehe.. Good Humor buddy :)
Let me speculate a little of what I think they are up to with PER.
I think they want to finish the 9th May cases, with that they come to a logical end for the week of 5th may, and then they start sending out PER for all pending ones from that week all at once.

In the interim, I am reading up on Internet other people's landing experiences, also preparing myself more (skill upgrade) in my field of expertise, and doing as much of networking as possible through friends and colleagues.

Hello Members

Here's a little tricky one and a little bit of skin picking.

I am asking this question on behalf of my colleague from my previous company.

He is willing to apply under NOC 2281 (same as mine).

He has a total experience of 4 Years.

He requested for a letter of reference from HR which they duly provided.

The doubt here is the Letter contains around 7 bullet points of the duties that he has performed in the company as an IT Engineer.

I have reviewed the letter and ALL the 7 bullet points co-relate to the duties under NOC 2281, however, the duties mentioned in the HRSDC site for the same NOC is a total of 12 bullet points. Out of the 7 duties in his Letter, 2 of them basically mean the same thing and match one of the duties from HRSDC site. This basically means that the total duties that he meets as per the HRSDC site's NOC is 6 out of 12 duties although he has 7 of them listed in his letter.

I hope I am making sense here.

So mathematically this is not exactly a 60% match with the NOC.

My assessment provided to him was that he is still okay to apply and claim points for NOC 2281.

Would anyone like to provide their perspective on this please ?

Because in the history of CIO, they received highest number of applications on 7th May,2014. Certainly, they have not plan too much for a some unusual days and no extra recruitment. Once 7th May is over, time will gradually decrease and from 16th May applicants, it will become normal and predictable.

If you ask my opinion HR is the worst job in the entire world, those guys get paid to do nothing intellectual at all. Just copy and paste and hiring calls / running after outside vendors. They all do the same thing from top to bottom, mostly. I have a cousin who is a top shot in HR and makes more than a crore in India, writes articles on Ascent etc. as well. Several companies want to hire him, and send him abroad, but he just wants to stay in India (aging parents). Right now he is in the process of leaving a company that sent his entire family to Singapore. Me and him joke how dumb HR jobs are. LOL!! That said someone has to do the job and voila!! HR pays well, so why not!!

Anyways, both you and the manager doing similar work is not a big deal (that is your way of using that as a justification to state you both are at similar levels, which is far from true in actual, right?) because the # of years of experience distinguishes the two of you. And that is why CIC has several different NOCs for HR folks. I am sure that HR manager is at a different title, pay scale, and works with more tenured colleagues than you do. Just some basic differences that come to mind!

It will pain when after several months of wait your Canada hopes are dashed. So just be cognizant of that, if you are still planning on applying. Anyways, a return is the most that can happen; nothing more, right? So apply if you wish to, but just be prepared for the worst. Right now you don't even have 2 years of work experience and you plan on applying to skill level 0, that is quite interesting actually. I don't know how you'll face a VO if you were called in an interview to explain your case. Think about it!

Please read on NOCs a little bit from the guide, that might also help you. Rest is up to you, good luck in whatever you choose to do! Having already startedit the process I know how you might feel now, my bad I should have remained quiet. I'll do just that from now on! ::)

PS - It is stated in the NOC guide that for NOC 0112 'several years of experience as a personnel officer or a human resource specialist are required'.
It does nt seem tht u like staying quite :p....anyways plz dnt remain quite...ur guidelines can work as a reality check...i think i ll hv to get more insight on this bfre applying...still wish me luck

One more thing if it is such a small organization (no offences) with only 1 HR per branch do you know what kind of scrutiny would happen? Moreover, I can already tell that its not a very famous org (internationally)...physical verification is on the cards for you definitely. :'( :'( :'( because generally the VO would trust an employee of Microsoft but not a small org which is not known internationally...so a physical verification and an interview too...

Let's say you are appearing for a HR manager position do you think your resume would even be shortlisted? considering the years of exp you have? Its the same with CIC.

Just want to help you understand that if you go with your plan and CIC finds out about the scheme that you are applying, you will be banned from Canada....I hope you read this clause...
Its hdfc group company...there r a no of people in the HR dept bt they r at corporate offce...i ll hv to get more insights...btw wht do u mean by ban??? Just for applying in tht noc with less exp? ???

Agreed. Right now May 7th is stuck in their a$$ real bad! ;)

There's no normal logic that applies to their not sending PER e-mail, as usually happened on a day to day basis though. Very possible that something we are not thinking right now could be happening there, as CIO was to speed up the process even more this year and it seems exactly the opposite right now.
For 7th May, 70th days has been passed. I think, CIO intentionally not sending PER- and it's a good idea. If Oscar had been received PER on 23rd June and due to huge workload, PER for Future_Canadian can't be sent by 28th July, imagine the mental anxiety Future_Canadian would go through. By the time, Century and others would start spamming e-mail server and they should bound to answer (70-days over) responding thousand of queries.

So, what I think, for yours and future_canadian's and for many others, PER is ready. They intentionally not sending.

Its no where mentioned that a person with a min level of such and such exp can do the jobs mentioned in NOC if your roles and responsibilities are matching the one mentioned by CIC then go ahead and get it in written from your organization on their letter head and incase CIC smells something wrong they will call you for an interview and you can easily explain your point if you are honest in your Roles and responsibilities ..best of luck and send your application soon as time is the essence in fswp scenario :) make sure your score shuld be more or equivalent to 67 be positive and you will be successful
