This is one of those 'Is there any hope?/ Should I do anything?' questions.

My application for FSW category 1112 was received on May 14th. As soon as I had heard that the doors for FSW had opened again in April, I rushed to re-prepare the application package and submit it. I had also applied in 2013 via a law firm but the application arrived after the quota of 300 places was filled.

So knowing it was going to be a 'race to the bottom' who gets the folder in first (for NOC 1112) I went this year and sent the papers even though my IELTS was from December 2011. On May 10, 2014 I took another IELTS. With my application I sent proof that I was registered for an updated IELTS - I said to myself - if I wait for the IELTS 2014 result to be in my hand, I stand no chance, I might better risk sending the application with the old IELTS and proof of registration for a new exam. (even though CIC has a hard rule about IELTS less than 2 years old)

Now I do have in my hands the official score sheet for the May, 10 2014 exam. Tried calling the 1 613 944 4000 number with no luck. Any advice what shall I do at this point to increase my chances for the CC to be charged and my application to be taken into consideration?

- do nothing
- email CIC a pdf/jpg of the 2014 IELTS exam
- mail CIC a paper copy of the 2014 IELTS exam (I am hesitant to mail the original as IELTS said they only send out one, and I might need it for other purposes, like Express Entry 2015 if I get rejected for 2014)
- try and try again to catch the CIC people on the phone

I am sure they would always need the original copy of the IELTS results. If you had it in the first instance, you would have sent the original. So why are you hesitant to send it. You can always apply and pay for a new copy if you need it in future.
Since they haven't got to 12 May applications yet, I suggest u send it by courier and indicate ur UCI (since u applied last year u should have ur UCI on the returned application).
U may still continue to follow up on phone but I think your IELTS cert needs to go IMMEDIATELY.

REGARDING DEMAND DRAFT

I am going to pay by demand draft. I know it is to be made in the favour of "RECEIVER GENERAL OF CANADA". But can anyone tell me if there is any more information required like payable at ? Is there something like that. Can India banks like Yes Band,HDFC issue in Candaian Dollars ?

In document check list it is clearly written "Copies" for settlement funds.
Dont know why you are saying original paper required for below papers
2) Bank Statement or
3) Bank Certification Letter

Dear as such ielts score card, eca report and pcc are the documents you need to provide in original....
But i think there is no harm attaching original bank statement or certification letter coz u can get multiple copies and obtain them as many times you want....it is upto you

Can answer some of your questions
Ans for 3: Yes please wait till you get PER
Ans for 5: You can use any other method, DD or some other bank card or your new card after its expiry. No issues there at all.

3. For India PCC for both of us, I heard people say - it does not take more than 30 odd days, depending on city. I dont feel I should yet
start the local PCC process. I can wait for my PER and advice from local VO when they ask for it. Does any senior feel otherwise if I should
start the process for local PCC and secure it anyway in the meantime?


The next 2 questions should really be asked after securing PER, but I would still ask them now anyway.

5. My CC got charged, great. However for the next charge whenever that is in the stages (guess PR fees) - I will have to give a new DD or submit
another fee payment form for CC, right? The reason I am asking is, my card is going to expire by May 2015. I hope they dont assume the same card
can be used for the next charge. Also I am not sure if by May 15 this charge would become due. I really want to know if I have flexibiity to choose
my next payment mode when that is due. Do I have that flexibility?

Hi All,

Am applying for FSW 2014. But am pretty late. Have sent my docs yest to WES for validation and have booked my IELTS on Aug 16. NOC Code - 2281.

If i write IELTS on Aug 16 , when will the scorecard come?
Also Please let me know If its possible to come within the cap of 1000 for NOC Code 2281 , If I send the application to Canada by Aug 30

Bhavin5503: thanks for sharing about your case. It's surprising that your folder got returned within days, while mine has been with them for 2 months now, and stands a high chance for rejection due to the IELTS issue.

Harka007: no need to cut deeper into the wound, I was not trying to make a mockery of the system. When I heard in April that FSW was re-opening I rushed to register for new IELTS and traveled to another country for May 10th exam. Given that I only qualify for a mega-crowded NOC, the choices were:

1. wait to have the May 10th exam score sheet in my hand and take on the risk of the application arriving after the 1000 cap had been reached. (I didn't get the IELTS result in the mail until early July - it wasn't 3 weeks from the date of the exam, as they claim. Taking the exam in another country increases the risk of delays due to the fact that the score sheet letter has to make it through customs)

2. send application folder to CIC with all I had in early May - IELTS from Dec 2011, and proof that I was going to take another IELTS on May 10 2014.


I just chose option 2., given that in 2013 I got rejected due to cap filled. Looking back the best would have been to have arranged for a IELTS in December 2013, regardless of whether FSW would happen again or not. Oh well, one lives and learns.

WesWes, I think what you did is an attempt to gain unfair advantage, and you're unlikely to succeed in that. If what you did was an option then I would have sent my application on 1st of May, instead of 18th of June, with a letter mentioning that my WES report and IELTS will be with CIC in 45 days so please keep my application in the queue ahead of other applications with all required documents!

Your only hope is to send new application with all that is required by CIC.

No you dont need to mention any bank, just make sure to take a copy of the Fee application form to the bank/money exchange company (whatever that is) along with the required money ofcourse!

Dear Oscar 7...i was asking because i saw a pic on this forum ..it was snapshot of a DD..where RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA was mentioned and also name of a bank was there..so i was just checking and making sure i dont miss anything.

Trust me if that was required people would say that the first time. Did anyone say anything about that? No. Just don't hang on a question. You only need a few things:

Payable at: RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA
Validity: 6 months (just check with the forex guys)
Amount: CAD 550

Good to go!

Yes, thats right. His application is likely to be returned. If the NOC is very hot then i would suggest to wait for Express Entry 2015 else apply asap!

Yes these are wounds that you will remember for sometime, it's sad. But as you rightly said life goes on. This is my 3rd year applying as well so had to re-take IELTS once already. Life does go on just fine!!

@Oscar7... Agreed mate.. Perseverance eventually pays and it will, hopefully, for all us ... Btw, what was your reason for rejection for previous 2 applications?

I strongly believe that they have multiple teams / divisions doing specific tasks. I think the team which receives applications performs basic check, i.e. for all must have documents in required format and checks that all required application forms fields are filled and signed where necessary. Then they probably prepare a file for the package with required documents and assign it a sequence number then store it somewhere in their office for "experts" to do detailed PER on each app in correct sequence!

So the point is that I think apps are opened pretty much on the same day they are received and then they are returned fairly quickly if a required document is "missing".

if specifically 3 months not written on your international DD then its of 6 months.
