Hi,

Which bank visa CC do you have?..I am worried to after reading this post...mine is ICICI and donnon about any imminent change in CC..will ask the bank tomorrow about this..
Rayj said:
Shaarav, I don't mean to scare you but mine is ICICI too. I have found out one way to get rid of this issue. The new card(chip and pin) gets activated only when you receive it. So, I would suggest you to not collect it when any letter/courier is delivered at your address. This way you can prolong deactivation of your present card as the card is deactivated anytime within the next 30 days only after new card is delivered.

If you already have a chip and pin you are safe!

Hope this helps!!
mine already has the chip but not the pin..it's coral card..the bank said it would not change it...also as a precautionary measure I requested them to delay the replacement if it happens....will keep a watch on this...thanks for the info..

Experts,

I was looking at the scanned copy of my forms & observed one thing. I had given the date in generic application form as 14/06/14 where as all other forms contain the date to be 16/06/14.
Is this going to hamper my chances?? kindly advice..

I had been to Canada 3 years down the line on Study Permit.

Now my question is, my background verification would be done only for last 3 years.

Or would that be since the time I am working, coz I had provided the same documents while applying for Study Permit?
So, ideally they should have the verification data.

I am a bit confused

Dear applicants,

I have 2 simple questions.

1 - My ICAS status shows as this:
06/19/2014 Additional Info / Documents Received
Does it mean all the documents have been received and there is no need to send anything else? Or can they still ask me for other documents?

2 - In order to prove that we have the minimum amount of money, CIC requires us to send our account statements showing how much money we have, right? Do we need to have that translated as well even though it is consisted mainly of numbers?

Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge.
Ohh dear brother, why have you applied with ICAS!!! I have done the same mistake. They took 7 weeks to complete my assessment once the complete documents received their office. If your documents are complete then your online status will change to "Application reviewed for completeness and placed in queue for assessment". Otherwise they will request you additional documents, if needed. Remember assessment process does not start until the complete documentation is received. And their website indicates assessment time 6 - 8 weeks. So if your NOC is one of the hot NOCs, I will suggest you to apply with WES. Around $300 will be wasted but you will have more chances to be in the cap. All the best.

Hello all,
This thread is so busy! So good luck to me if this query gets noticed... :)

I just please need an opinion about proof of funds / settlement funds.

I read from one of the posts here that the amount declared in your balance certificate upon submission to CIC should be maintained. I need to ask, what if the money (while waiting) had been significantly reduced because of emergency expenses? When VO finally requests for your proof of settlement funds (assuming I received a PER) and I was for some reason able to borrow some money and show the same amount at this time, will there be doubts from the VO office that this money had been borrowed? What is the impact of this in the VO procesing?

Kindly let me know roughly how long do you process papers with the VO after PER (i know this depends on the VO) but estimate please? and when is the time for you to provide the proof of settlement funds?

Thanks in advance.
It is against the rule to "borrow" the proof of settlement fund. If you are found out, your application will be rejected with a ban!

Such involved verification would be done by your local visa office. The chances are that local VO will be in same time zone as yours.

Hmm that makes me wonder, how will they contact if the applicant & the employer are in different time zone. e.g. there are number of cases in which the applicant from India is working for a US based company (no office in India). I understand they like to contact both sides simultaneously to cross check the facts. :-\

hi Solomon, thanks for the scary answer ??? :'(

Might I ask please how would they know? Will they call the bank to investigate? I thought that our bank records can only be opened up to third parties by way of issuing a court order?

Not sure why you are so paranoid about CIC contacting your employer. 'am sure yours is not a unique case. In fact CIC may hire a 3rd party for such verfications.

Hi,

They may ask for bank statements at a later stage. If you have borrowed this will show up on the statement.

Also another way of checking could be how aligned are your bank savings with your salary

Thanks

Never said I was paranoid or concerned about it, just trying to understand their usual procedure. Now that you have mentioned third party verification, I remember in immigration case of my friend's colleague (although it was sponsorship case and not FSW), the verification was done by some retired army officials hired by a private company.

CIC can ask for last 6 months or only last month bank statements.
one of my frnds was asked to submit only last month stmts. and it's random..perhaps depends your profile, application, noc or luck or may be on officer.
