Fellow Immigrants,

What is going on this week at CIC?

This anxiety is killing for applicants that used DD as mode of payment.

I was just looking at the Provincial Nominee program.

Once one gets a provincial nomination certificate, one still has to do all that people are doing here for FSW via CIC.

So, whats the advantage ?

Are provincial nominees not subject to cap ? Or do they NOT have to fall under these 50 occupations ?

Any disadvantages ?

Provincial nominees follow the rules that the province sets regarding desired occupations. They have their own caps, independent of FSW. After getting a provincial nomination, candidates must submit their documentation to CIC together with their nomination letter, and undergo medical and security evaluations, but they are not subjected to the FSW caps or eligibility criteria. It is expected, though, that the immigrant, once landed, establishes himself in the province that nominated him. I belive that most PN programs have lower standards than FSw, but a much smaller cap too. And they are not first-come-first served as is FSW, but nominees are selected from the pool of candidates.

Guys, I have a concern.
I sent my package last week Friday by DHL. It should have reached the CIC office yesterday but didnt. It is actually with the delivery courier today to be delivered. I called DHL to find our why my package didnt reach on time. They said it was held by customs in Canada because there were identity documents in the package and they wanted to inspect it.
Does that make sense to you guys, seeing that it is an immigration package?
Is this something normal?
What if they opened the package and something was inadvertently discarded?
Am i worrying for no reason?

Hi
I sent my package with DHL as well. they asked me in the first place if there are any documents (passport for example) because they have to be declared for custom purposes and additional fee has to be paid in this case.
Did you send identity documents in original???
I suppose there should be no problem if there are no such documents....

Looking for response :'(

If your final year transcript contains marks of all years (subject should also mention) then no need to send all years mark sheets separately otherwise you should send.

I have question about language proficiency.
IS TOEFL acceptable for FSW application.

No, only IELTS General module (Academic module is NOT accepted for FSW), or CELPIP. Or TEF, for French.

Guys, how many CC charges happened today here in the forum? Very few?

+1 TO shah for the positive attitude ;D ;D

@ ALL

All of us have already agreed to kill the discussion, and take it in A POSITIVE WAY i.e. FOR ALL THOSE WHO CAN APPLY UNDER OTHER SIMILAR NOC (due to duties overlap) SHUD APPLY IN THEM. THOSE WHO HAVE NO OTHER OPTION KEEP ON APPLYING TILL WE HAVE OFFICIAL INFO FROM CIC.

P.S: All related debate/msgs have already been deleted bcuz its useless, Admin kindly do not delete this msg as a reminder to ALL (when u once again delete related msgs, and rightly so).

@ Star**

Unfortunately NO, only IELTS (General, NOT EVEN ACADEMIC) and another exam i think its CELPIP but TOEFL is definitely NOT ACCEPTABLE

i dont think so . but let the seniors confirm

Hi guys, can you update canadasuperb in the spreadsheet as CC charged? This is a nice update for 2174 applicants!

Dear Members-

In my present company I have worked for 11 months and 15 days. If I file my application on the 16th day can I select '1 Year but less than 2' assuming the tenure would be 1 year by the time they start processing my application ?

Or should I wait for another 15 days to go by before submitting my application ?

It is not critical that my current Job be counted as 1 full year as my ex-job is 3 years and 19 days therefore I get a total of 4 years exp (3 Yr 19 days + 11 months 15 days) in the NOC and therefore 13 points.

Any suggestions ?
