Guys I have a small issue
I realised the DD I sent to CIC reads out beneficiary as ' receives general for canada' instead of receiver. Is it a problem ?? My application delivered on 11th sept. I spoke with the bank and they told me one letter mistake would not cause a problem..

Any thoughts ??

Hi Saps,

WHich one is preferable? as to the mailing address, CIO or CIC? Thanks...

This is what @droslim used and it has worked. But i also see instances of people using CIC and it has worked. :-\

;D That actually sounds funny :) This should be ok though .... Good Luck not to worry..

I concur with Oscar7's post. Get it verified with the bank's manager coz the bank should pass it when applied by CIC.

Congratulation Oscar brother for your unbeaten triple century 8) 8) 8). Can't give you a +1 for karmafication. :( :( :(

Hmm not that I am an expert in this field, but never heard that name before. Thanks for sharing mate!!

Several consultants can be jerks and one has to be a better jerk than them to be successful in getting things done from them - their November timeline doesn't boost much confidence, though lately I am not checking cap related data - so just go by what others in the forum say. Even if one gets in cap, my guess is that it would be a tight fit by then.

But again I am not doing any number crunching anymore - it is anyway just estimation and could go wrong so I'm not into it anymore.

They assessed my points to be 66 and rejected the app.

The honour for the first post on page 5000 goes to PP (Palak Patel) and rightly so....

Umm how do you know harry? I guess that is good to know then.
I deposit hundreds of DD's everyday at work and I know minor things like that dont matter. Even DDs which are not valid ( due to date over 3 months ) are cleared if its just couple of days past validity.

Anyways his is an minor spelling thing shouldn't be a prob at all

Hello,

Was just observing the SS and came across an interesting timeline:

Forum Profile Name App. Received Fee Encashed Date PER received date Medical request date
saharl 5/8/2014 8/16/2014 8/21/2014 8/30/2014

Lucky chap...

Seems like my suggestion was incorrect!!! :(

I didn't mean to give him the wrong input though or scare him about it!!! :(

Didn't know a correction on a wrong payer can be made, and that too to such a HIGH value INTERNATIONAL currency DD

PS - Thanks mate!!

Oscar7, you may not be wrong. Indian Banks pass it, as they are presented with lots of DD's with single letter mistakes (courtesy my mom's input). But this DD will be presented to the Canadian representative of this bank, so its best he gets its clarified from the bank manager and ask the manager to bump up the question to the presenting bank.
CIC will present it irrespective, the Bank should pass it as valid.

It is nothing to do with CIO. Asked your bank to ensure that it get passed immediately.

Maybe your online account has not been updated. Call call center to know about the transaction.

true. Indian DDs get cleared after banks confirming with the issuer.
But whether the Canadian tie up bank will do the same is not known to me.

Hi Guys

I promised that i will share my silly mistakes I did while sending my application. my CC got charged yesterday.. lets hope for the PER now :)

1. I am working in Saudi Arabia so I did not write London as a visa office, i wrote Abu Dhabi ( which does not deal the immigration applications)
2. I did not put the bar code page on the top, I found it weired as the application was having page number accordingly :)
3. My birth certificate and my spouse BC has a spelling error of "E" instead of "I" and "I" instead of "E". even pronounciation is same :) i did not attach any covering letter to it.
4. I forgot to write the names in native language in one of the forms
5. The main duties column was left blank :) it was so small to accomodate my JD so I ignored it and I said, I already have my reference letters attached :)
6. My wife was appearing in IELTS on 7th June but I had to send my application on 28th May, so I wrote a note on simple paper, that I am checking the box that my wife is proficient in english and is going to appear in IELTS on 7th June, attached the receipt of it and promised to send them the result later, which i did not send yet, as I am having enough points and did not have UCI #, so I thought I will send it to the LVO once asked for update of documents.
:) if i remembered any more, il let u know... the reason i am writing this is that CIC ignores small mistakes.. so nothing to worry about specially the guys who have just sent applications and than realized ooohhhh i miss this and that :)

All the best to every buddy .... Cheerzz
