Morning guys,

I recently got a fresh passport with spouses name included in it. But I didnt change my surname to his. Will that be a problem ?
Please advice? In the marriage certificate, my name is mentioned twice with both the surnames ( After and before marriage).

I have filled all the forms with my own surname and not with my husbands.

Please suggest any supporting documents or procedure to make sure this doesnt create a problem.

No there is no requirement to change your name to your husband's name and in many western countries this is becoming less common.

My package returned due to
1- Incorrect fees
2- Work Experience : Reference letters not provided.
My issue is - I am a self employed . How can I provide evidence of my duty performance as self attested affidavits are nor acceptable , and who can certify them ? Which 3rd Party ? I am a private practitioner performing all the duties mentioned in my NOC . But I hv no reference letter.
Any one has a format for 3rd party Reference Letter ? U can PM me the format .

[size=9pt] Hi, No after the initial online request and fee payment mine too came via UPS. I meant I gave my e-mail ID to WES rather than that of a consultant; sorry about the confusion there. I don't recall the exact amount but it was the FSWP package payment - not sure if it was like CAD 180 or CAD 280, something like that. Trust that helps!

PS - Let me see if I can login again there to check on the amount.

Ok I just checked my receipt, I had paid $124.30 for my WES. I confirmed from my prev consultant he said I'll have to process for FSWP as it was not done last year. anyways I've emailed WES to find out the same.

 Call at – 0016139444000
 Select 1 for English
 Then 1 for foreign affair
 2 for immigration
 Call is being transferred to CIC
 Then 1 for English
 2 for status
 1 for PR
 When it asks you to enter UCI number just be on hold n let it say it 3 times then the call is automatically transferred to an agent
 Agent will ask information about last name, first name, date of birth, application received date, email id etc.

Someone who was actually your supervisor is better, but if that's not possible, and this colleague knew your duties, and can explain how she knew your duties, you should be fine.

Your reference letter should only be on letterhead if it comes from the company or someone authorized by the company. If it's a personal letter such as from that colleague it should be on plain paper.

If you've been legally admitted there for a year you can choose CPC-Ottawa.

What does it actually mean? Suppose I went to Canada for visit and they gave a 5 year multiple entry visa, does it mean that this 5 year visa can be used to say I am legally admitted. If I only stay in Canada for a month than can I say I am legally admitted there?

Can you please elaborate.

[size=9pt] I just re-opened the site after more than a year and I now realize they looted me back then lol - I paid a ransom $ 430 (including 100 for international express and 100 for 3 day rush service)...and after that I was late in FSW 2013...poor me lol ;D

WOW that's a big Ransom amount just for a WES report. LOL ;D ;D ;D

That means you paid $230 for your assessment report....

I am curious, if someone had multiple entry visitor visa to canada, could he pick his visa office as ottawa instead of delhi.
I see that ottawa seems much quicker.

No. To choose a visa office you must be legally admitted to that country for a year. Visiting does not count as legally admitted. Legally admitted means you are allowed to reside there temporarily on some kind of visa such as a work or student visa.

The funds will be accepted at 50% of the funds you have shown if it is a joint account with anyone other than your spouse.

It won't work buddy. Phone calls are only for applications inside Canada. You may connect to an agent, but he will not be able to respond to your questions. I have tried myself last week, and that's for sure. The only way to contact CIO is via email.

The translator can be based anywhere. Try googling for professional translation services in your area.

Hey Ashif/Century/Other veterans of this forum,

New guys like myself are also aiding in solutions to quite a few queries on the forum takia bit of the load off you guys .... Actually the place where I work, these sites are banned(look like govt sites) and smartphones are not allowed otherwise my posts would be a lot more regular .... If you are in Canada with either single or multiple entry visa AND you have legal status in Canada, you can select CPC-Ottawa as your VO. But if you are out of Canada, you can not select CPC-Ottawa though you have visa on passport.

The key is "legal status." Visitor is not legal status.
