I doubt that the percentage will remain constant. ..In fact the sharp increase in the cap update is due to the major rush of applications from the 7th to maybe 12th of May...should have slowed down after that I hope
True, the SS reflects this rush in the form of 85 entries for this NOC, while the true reflection for this rush is in the number announced by CIC, which is 313. Keeping the same pace, the cap would have been reached by June 15th or so, but the slowdown that took place afterwards is enough to keep the cap open, only for one more month :)

If 313 worldwide corresponds to 85 in our SS, then 1000 would correspond to 270. I actually think that it may even be less than 270, which means that the cap would be reached earlier than 7/17. Think about it, the rush was caused by people who were very engaged in the process, people who knew in advance that CIC is running a new intake. How would one know this other than from the Internet, and particularly from this forum? You can deduce that the later an application is submitted the more probable the applicant is not aware of our forum. If you agree with this, it means that the percentage is even less than 27% for applications later than May 15th :)

A query on the education evaluation - this is for my spouse, and to give a bit of background, we're both likely to qualify under two different NOCs. Hence, we're both getting independent evaluations done and proceeding down the path of least resistance.

She has used her maiden name for all her education (degrees from India and UK) and has subsequently changed her surname, including her passport.

Two queries:

1. Will WES have an issue with this at all?
2. Will CIC have an issue with this - diff names for application and education evaluation?

Anyone who has an idea, do help!

@ Aban_Can

On top of a copy of your visa, I suggest you submit an I-94 if one was issued to you. If I -94 was not issued, submit a photocopy of the visa page in which ICE (Immigration and Citizenship Enforcement) stamped the date that you arrived in the US and the duration of your stay. If you're student, then you'll probably know what an I-20 is as well. Submit a copy of that as well.

You are not eligible for FSW entry with that TRF (L<5). Retake IELTS.
That "5" is the poits received, not the score. :)

@ Oscar 7/seniors,

There are 50 total occupation categories. Total cap is 25000. In the website they are showing 1000 per noc. But as per statistics it will be 500 count per noc.what this magic cio is doing. Through some light.. ...
This is due to the NOCs that always stays very low... :)

Will skilled immigrants be considered under both the current admissions system and Express Entry in 2015?

No. Each application is assessed according to the eligibility requirements and caps in place at the time CIC receives it. In order to be considered for Express Entry, people will have to apply separately (starting in January 2015) using a new electronic application management system. There will not be any application caps or occupation lists under Express Entry.

There is always a time lag between when people apply and when they settle in Canada. As a result, there will be an overlap between people being processed under these caps in 2014 and people applying under Express Entry in 2015.

Hi guys, I am new to this forum Grin, i am planning for FSW and have gone through lot of information and guide over past few weeks. i still have some doubts which are not mentioned anywhere, it would be great if somebody helps me clear these doubts Grin.

1- I have worked from 10-07-2013 to 08-07-2014 - Will CIC consider it 1 full year or 1 day short of year and would reject my application? It is not one full year. But it counts as 11 months of experience. You need one full year of continuous full time experience in your primary NOC (whichever one you're applying under) to be eligible, but it doesn't have to be your most recent or current job. It can be any job in the past 10 years.

2- Salary slips have to be last three months or any of the 3 months covering my 1 year period? Whatever you can provide will help. Salary slips aren't strictly necessary, and the most important thing is for your letters to be in order but they are good supporting documents.

3-One of the agent said me I have to show supporting evidence of funds of 8,00,000 INR for 15 - 30 days max - can that be true? You must show sufficient settlement funds for the number of people you are bringing to Canada, the minimums are set out on CIC's web site. You need to have these funds (and be able to prove it) at the time of application, possibly at the local visa office stage, and at landing.

4-I have just tax return history, by the HMRC, UK , Liverpool , of past employment and some P60's, can that be enough along with experience letter? Sure, again these are just supporting documents, the letters are crucial.

5-I have 2 job experience, 2nd company is giving me all details of job duties as per NOC 0911, but old company is not. My agent says i just need to show my job duties on latest experience. For old experience i just need to show title, hours of work, job title, duration, on letter head - is it true? You will not get points for any experience for which you do not have a letter detailing your job duties. Your latest experience isn't necessarily more important than any former experience, but remember that (1) you need enough points to make the pass mark and (2) you need a minimum of one year of continuous full time employment in your primary NOC to be eligible, so I suggest you carefully calculate whether you can meet both of these requirements. If you can't get a letter on company letterhead there are alternatives, such as a personal letter from a supervisor.

Thank you guys, this forum rocks

Hey guys, I want to apply under current FSW programme, what is the last date i must send complete application file to CIC to avoid getting into express entry?
answers above in red, good luck

This is a snapshot from earlier.

It has always been like this I suppose. Please see this for FSW 2010-11.

Don't panic guys, this one is from long time back.
Just saying to avoid a frenzy. :p

@ nskatcv,

Almost a thousand general physicians and specialist physicians back in 2011! And this year 2 and 0, respectively. I think the delay this year is the ECA. For doctors, there is a special ECA, which I hear takes a long time to get. I really won't be surprised if, like in 2011, these two occupations, too, will see around a 1,000 applicants by the time FSW 2014 ends.

If you're submitting the PCC WITH THE APPLICATION, then the PCC must have been obtained within 3 months of the application submission date. If you're submitting the PCC when the local VO asks for it, then the PCC is valid for an year from the date of issuance. In other words, you should be fine unless the local VO asks for your PCC AFTER 2 June 2015 (Note the 2015)!
I heard something different from other forumites.. Some mentioned, even though the PCC is valid for 1 year, it cannot be older than 3 months by the time CIC or VO receives.. If your VO asks for PCC after Sept 2nd, then the PCC is older than 3 months for VO.
I am in similar situation, the got PCC dated July 7th, 2014... I am in dilemma now, should I get a new PCC when VO asks for it? It takes about a month to get a new PCC. This gonna delay the whole process by atleast a month or 2 months.

Maybe somebody who had previous experience can clarify this issue.
