I just noticed something. The FSW total intake count is very heavily skewed by just a few occupations.

Here are the "hottest" occupations and the number of applications in descending order

1112 - 198
2174 - 197
2173 - 99
2171 - 64
2131 - 58

These 5 occupations total 616 of the 887 accounted for so far. That's a staggering 70 percent of all applications! Of them, computer related fields alone (2174, 2173, 2171) account for 40 percent of all the applications accounted for so far! If you add the 44 applications in the 2281 category- another computer related category- and redo the math, 45 percent of all applicants are in a computer related field! In other words, almost 1 in 2 applicants are in a computer related field!!!!

There are hardly any accountants, professors, physicians, and specialist doctor applicants so far. Why in the world accountants, professors, physicians, specialist doctors haven't applied so far is beyond me!
Your analysis is correct. I also analyze the SS data and its also show around 45% of top 4 IT and 1112 combined against other NOC. So weather the other caps are reached or not this 5 NOC(2171,2173,2171,2281 and 1112) with their 5000 applicant are going to canada by any mean. I think Canada will become a good place for IT people in the coming years.

Seniors, pls advise...........

I'm a bit confused regarding section 12b in schedule 3 form.

This form asks us to list occupations within the 10 years preceding the date of your application. I thought I was going to include ALL occupations over the past 10 years. However, I just realise that the instruction guide states that 'List only occupations falls in Skill Type 0, Skill Level A, B of NOC 2011. I'm not sure what to do......

One of my occupations within the past 10 years is in Credit Risk management area and does not fall in occupations of NOC 2011, plus previous supervisor left the company already, so no reference letter can be provided. Should I list this occupation in the section 12b or not??

Hello All

I am gathering all my documents to apply .

Basically i belongs to Conference and event planners (1226) category where all my duties are mentioned. but this category is not available to apply under FSW 2014.

so the nearest category 1123 Professional occupations in advertising, marketing and public relations where my 30 - 50 % duties match but these are not primary duties.

So i was think there is no harm in trying , what do you people advice.

thank you for your advice

regards

Ahmad

Hi Obaied, Actually what I think is Police Certificates should not be taken 3 months prior to sending the application to CIC but once one has sent the application it can be taken anytime. I could be incorrect on this, but below is what they state on CIC website.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

"Who needs a police certificate?

In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate. You must get one from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18.

The certificate must be issued no more than three months before you apply."

Because if one was to send the police certificate with the application then what's the problem sending the same police certificate that came let's say 2 days after the application was posted to CIC. Now if my VO asks for it 4 months later (than when I had originally posted the application to CIC) then I will give them the 4 month old Police Certificate, which by the way still meets their above criteria i.e. it is issued no more than 3 months before I applied to CIC. Don't think I am wrong here, am I? :) The 3 months logic is with reference to one's application submission date ONLY, otherwise it stays valid for a year post the issue date and if within that one year period visa is processed then no problem at all.

Dear Oscar,
tx for ur clarification on PCC issue,u may right but i would rather follow the 3 months rules of CIC .
anyway i highly appreciate ur cooperation in this forum,in fact ur the main Engine of this forum and hope others will agree with me.
cheers boss ;D ;D ;D ;D

[size=9pt] Dear, I am myself trying to get a confirmation on this as both my PCCs arrived in June and I don't see VOs asking for it anytime soon i.e. before September or so. Let's see what ashif, Century and others say on this (I believe Future already agrees to this). I too think it can be of any issue date which is not older than 3 months earlier than the application sent date to CIC. And after one has sent application to CIC no point waiting on getting the PCC is my line of thought, especially for countries in which the entire PR process is less than 12 months. :) Trust that helps!

Brother Oscar,

The thing is that, [size=13pt]The certificate must be issued no more than three months before you apply.

So its pretty much clear that issuing date is the major concern. Why this is a major concern..?

Reason is that while submitting the PCC, CIC can be assured that applicants did not commit any crime up to now considering this shorter span of time (three months).......

Lets say u applied on January (with/without PCC) and u are submitting ur PCC on December which is issued on February (nearly 10 months older)...

In this case ur PCC will not be accepted logically since u may commit any crime within this longer period of time...

This is why several VOs including Singapore always request for PCC even though u have submitted it along with ur application...

Its not mentioned anywhere that this three month will be calculated depending on the app submission date....

So its unconditionally ---PCC have to be submitted within the three months of its issuing date which will not be depended on the app submission date.

I hope this may clear.....

I guess this also reflects the professions most popular in countries like India, pakistan, Bangladesh, singapore and others. In India IT and ITes dominate the job scenario in the services sector and KPOs are the next big thing. Thus high number of IT and Finance related fields.

It might not b best to look at accountant as a separate category but as part of the finance field as a whole. Finance category accounts for abt ~30% of the PERs issues till now (1112, 0111, 1111, 1212, 1114 etc.)

U have to list for that jobs which is under Type 0, Skill Level A, B of NOC 2011. So just ignore them on Sch-3 form....

And for the ref letter issue, Yes u will need to mention the job details even though u cant collect it....Its the rule...

Its not a matter that u r not able to collect the ref letter but u will need to mention it on the form...otherwise CIC may treat that u have intentionally hid it....:)

Good luck...

Brother,

There might not any harm to apply....

But since Job duties are the major focus for the app acceptance so u will have to cautious abt that....Atleast 70% NOC matching is suggested....

Good luck....:)

Guys,

I am in the final stage of documents collection. Before sending across I have few questions.

The only originals I am going to submit now are the CIC forms and bank balance certificate. The rest would be notarized photocopies. Please let me know if I have to submit anything else in original.

Have few questioons regarding mailing the application :

Are we not supposed to staple the documents ?

Can we segregate all the documents into different envolopes and put all of them in one big envolope?

The mailing address to which I am sending would be

Citizenship and Immigration Canada
Federal Skilled Worker
NOC Category or Arranged Employment Category
Primary NOC 2011 Code: XXXX
Centralized Intake Office
PO BOX 7500
Sydney, NS
B1P 0A9
Canada

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Regards,
Keerthi

should i obtain PCC now to save time later? got PER on 13th Aug and application is sent to LVO.
Any suggestions please?

U can do both....

Send it now...or wait for the request from them....

It cant be assured that sending PCC right now will save ur time....

So my personal view and suggestion is to send the PCC when they request for it...:)

Good luck....

Thanks for your reply. So, what you mean is, I must include all occupations in the personal history in background declaration form, but can ignore this particular occupation (which is NOT under Type 0, Skill Level A, B of NOC 2011) in schedule 3 form. And I don't need to collect reference letter for this occupation (which is NOT under Type 0, Skill Level A, B of NOC 2011). Is that right?? Do I need to explain this in a cover letter?
