but did not understand what you mean by "NDVO will not set AORs this time".

what does this mean whether the application has reached the NDVO or not.

i am asking this because i need to update my status to NDVO from single to married after september.
so just want to start gathering my documents for that.

Abhi answered you about the second part of your query..

First part explained below: The local Visa offices, NDVO in your case, sends a email notification to application about receiving of applicants file from CIC. This might not happen this year, as is indicated by your case.

I have a query about my mother's name as mentioned on my Birth Certificate and my passport.

On the Birth certificate, it is written as: karamjit kaur sidhu
On my passport, the same is written as: karamjeet kaur

The name on my passport is the same on her passport as well, but all her other identity documents have the first name above.

Is this going to be a problem or should I put in an affidavit ? Which name should I use in the application ?

"We started processing your application on August 5, 2014"
what does this means ?

whether application processing started at Nova Scotia or the file transferred to NDVO and processing started in NDVO?

will update the SS.

Congratulations ! After PER , now NDVO started working on your application...expect Medical in coming soon period ..
Could you please share your dates for application filed and PER Received ?

It means NDVO has started processing your application and you will get the medical request soon. As I can see, you have not submitted the PCC along with your application, start working on it immediately.
It seems NDVO has decided not to send AORs this year to save some time.

Thanks Century. Should I make an affidavit stating that my mother's name is same in both the cases, or should she make one stating that there are two variations of her name present currently ?
