Municipal Corporations and Court both can give Marriage certificates in India..

and someone said it won't take much longer. :)

I mean these two things are not really known for fast service, are they ?

Coming to the question. Would they cater people who had not registered their marriages earlier anytime ? And would just issue a certificate based on some set of documents ?

If that's the case, I might try.

Regards

why don't you both re-marry and get it Regd. / latest Marriage certificate issued from the competent authority :-*

This is India brother. :)

We have tonnes of rituals/customs more binding on people than court orders. :)

Good question though.

I don't think its common in India legally .. as a "common-law".. only Partnership exists is in Businesses :)

I think, the 7 circle ritual is enough in India?

By the way, we are waiting for 7th May to be completed.

I am not sure how to react to this one. :D

It seems like sitting in a comfortable zone holding a marriage affidavit, then motivated towards arranging a marriage certificate, I might end getting all dressed up to become a groom in the next few hours. :P

What's next ?

Maybe you can show facebook/whatsapp/skype chat logs to show them or maybe email histroy. I'm not sure how you were in contact but this might be helpful.

Nskaycv- Just go to a Canada consulate with your partner and sign a common law declaration. It costs around 50CAD and it is accepted by CIC as a proof of partnership when additional proof of relation is included with the application. You "must" include additional proof. These may be a common bank account, bank statements of you and partner with the same address, bills sent to the same address, insurance papers showing each other as beneficiary, a common lease contract, photos and other document dated at least 1 year back.
You have to prove that you are in a common law relation "at least" for one year. The best proof would be showing them you are living at the same address for over a year, but if you are not living together you must find a way to convince them why you are not living together.
