One of my friend is planning to land in June 2015. He wants to transfer approx CAD$ 200,000 as he straight away wants to buy a home. Can anybody recommend what is the easiest and cheapest way to transfer such a huge amount from Pakistan.

We all stuck at one place or another, In my case stuck for medicals, for some people its Third line and so on and so forth.

Seniors on this forum can probably give you an estimate,if that makes you feel good. but what eventually happens depends on when NDVO plans to move your file and above all when God has decided from above its time.

My two cents to you is keep the faith going and pray, something will happen its only a matter of when. God if probable moving obstacles which we cannot see.

You can order for GCMS notes to see where your file is stuck or raise a CSE whichever you think is good enough.

Any October applicant waiting for AOR ?. It has been almost 2 months after per still waiting ..for any update.

I have received my AOR from Colombo visa office. Please check my timelines on the left.

Those moving to CANADA can open a Canadian dollar account after receipt of visa and copr. The account will be with Scotia bank in Canada and Indian partner is Kotak Mahindra bank under star right program. Kotak bank has International Account branches in major cities of India.

Scotia bank also has branches at New Delhi,Bangalore,Mumbai. The account can be opened within 6 month of departure and before 15 days of landing.

The account shall be activated only when one lands in Canada and contacts the Scotia bank. If one does not land in Canada with in 6 month the account shall be closed.

For those who do not wish to carry cash ,this is the best solution .The bank statement can be shown while landing as proof of settlement funds,if so demanded by Immigration Officer.

It will not be a concern as long as you are providing enough documentary proofs that you have not borrowed that money from some one or some institution and that the source of income is legal. You can provide below-mentioned proofs along with receipt of sale to substantiate your claim of having enough settlement fund lying with you.

1. If your close relatives (blood relation only) have transferred money to your account, you can submit notarized copies of Gift Deeds signed by your blood relatives claiming that they are giving that money to you as gift and will not be claiming it at a later date.

2. If you have sold off your gold, you need to provide receipt of sale from jewellery shops which will prove that you held gold and have now sold it off to arrange for money and it was in your name only.

3. If you have transferred money from any of your foreign bank accounts, you need to attach statement of that account as well proving that you had that cash with you and that the cash is post tax cash only and not some stashed away black money.

Do attach a detailed cover note on top of it explaining about the situation. In case VO will have any doubts on the source of funds, you might be asked for further explanation but I personally don't think it will have any adverse impact on your visa processing.

A big chunk of it was a hand over foreign currency, it was a gift from my brother quite a long ago, some of it is emergency cash handed over to me by my mom when she was leaving for back home from Canada, I can still show the receipt for solf off gold, but how am I suppose to proof the rest of the two?
