Guys,

Regarding Background verification,

My wife who is an HR for a software testing company received a call on Friday form NDVO regarding verification of one of their ex employees who is planning to go to Canada on student visa.She had signed his relieveing letter so they called to check.

One of her colleagues picked up the phone and when he heard that the call was from Canada NDVO he abruptly handed the call to my wife. She was questioned for some time asking why the call was handed over abruptly and also who that person was and what was his role in the company.

She thought the verification call was for her cos she also applied fro NOC 0112 in FSWP 2014 and we awaiting medicals. She told the lady that it would not be right for her to take her on verification call and would out it across to her manager. She said it was not for her but for an ex employee for whom she had signed the relieving letters.

The lady was happy with the information provided and asked my wife if we have already done our medicals ( we actually waiting for medicals) and disconnected the call.

The lady called again and asked for my wife's application timeline which she promptly gave and the lady said Thank you and disconnected.
