Hi Seniors

I have got my ECA report as below. Can you please confirm how much point shall I get?

Canadian Equivalency Summary:
Two Bachelor's degrees
1.
Credential: Bachelor of Engineering
Institution Status: Recognized
Admission Requirements: Higher Secondary Certificate
Length of Program: 4 Years
Major/Specialization: Computer & Communications Engineering
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor Degree(4 years)

2.
Credential: Masters of Business Administration (Executive)
Institution Status: Recognized
Admission Requirements: Bachelor's Degree
Length of Program: Two years
Major/Specialization: Business Administration
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's Degree (4 years)
Remarks: The equivalency for for this credential is stated in conjunction with study previous completed(see #1 above)

u get 22 points for 2 bachelors degree. since ur MBA is considered equivalent to bachelors.
it would have been 23 if the MBA would have been considered Masters.

Respected Members,

I want to apply as an Electrical Engineer (2133). I have total two yr exp on 2133. But First yr work exp is during my Undergrad's last year.

Will that be problem a for total work exp calculation working as an engineer without completion of that degree?.

I need the point for 2 yrs. Is there any body who have shown work exp during their undergrad?

I am filing under 1123. It's really touch and go, it's supposed to be a hot NOC. In 2011, in a very similar NOC, they reached the 500 cap in less than 18 days. So let's see how long it takes for 1000 this year. Wish you luck!

I am also planning to file under 1123 as a product marketing manager.
Even though in 2011 it was one the hot NOCs that is probably because it included consulting also.
From what I can see in the Forum xl sheet there are only 6 applications till now.
But keeping my fingers crossed :-)

Arjun Singh

Important Alert for all Indian Applicants using CC

I just got a text from ICICI bank that new card has been dispatched automatically. I immediately called up their customer care to find out what was happening.

I was told that as per latest RBI guidelines, all CC's without Chips would be replaced by a credit card with chip and pin for enhanced security. Unfortunately, this means change of credit card number and blocking of our previous card. I somehow managed to convince them to put on hold the blocking of my previous card.

I request all of you to check the same if you don't have a credit card with chip.

My aim is not to create panic and hope it helps everyone!!

As long as you worked full time (studying at night, for example), I think you're fine. Be prepared to provide a reference letter that reflects that, though.

One last question Goku, since that's another NOC suggestion,if it fit's my Job duties perfectly well, should i go ahead to apply under it as ''classified Elsewhere''knowing fully well that it's not listed among the published well and easily recognized 50 NOC ? Thanks for earlier answered qurries

If that particular NOC that fits your job duties perfectly and is not listed under 50 NOC's then you should go with it as it will make you ineligible to apply under FSW .

Congrats buddy!!! Thanks for keep bringing good news to the forum.
ECAS is not updated immediately. So you need to wait. Expect it next week (end of next week, conservatively). Good luck!

I received PER today from Centralized-Intake-Office @ cic.gc.ca

" Based on a review of the information you have provided, your application has received a positive determination of eligibility to be processed on the basis of work experience in an occupation specified in the Instructions issued by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on May 1, 2014. However a final decision on your eligibility to be selected as a federal skilled worker will be made by a visa office."

In the eligibility page, section B - Minimum Requirements, you cansee that they consider one year of experience as 1560 hours, be it full-time or part-time. And here, they say that "You can get points for the number of years you have spent in full-time paid work (at least 30 hours per week, or an equal amount of part-time)." So they consider at least 30 hours per week as full time, and at least 1560 hours as one year of experience. If you worked part-time, they will factor the number of hours per week, and they will consider it as, for example, equivalent to 6 months full time (supposing you worked 15 hours per week).

Note that working more than 30 hours per week does not make your experience count for more than it was, so if you worked 60 hours per week during one year, it will NOT be considered as two years of experience.
