Please help clear my thots on this:
1. A friend of mine just told me that he was going to do a 3 months travel health insurance from IGI for his family of 6 as he prepares to land so they can enjoy health care before their health cards are ready at Ontario. Is this really necessary?

2. Do I need to fill a B4 listing all the items that am going with like clothes, food stuff, laptop, ipad, phones etc? If yes, please paste a link to the form.

Question 1, as your spirit leads. My family has fantastic health so no insurance necessary when we came. I only brought 1 dose of malaria drugs each, some panadol and some worm expeller. If you're settling in the GTA - Greater Toronto Area, there is a clinic at Bramalea that will treat you free of charge as a newcomer. With Google, you can find it and others as well.

Question 2, you need to prepare a list of all things coming with you and things that will follow later. Draw the two lists by category and put total estimated value of the items. Eg electronics, $800. Clothes, $1000. Jewelry, $2000. Books and educational materials, $750.Then put grand total, simple list on excel if you can't find the Form B4. But with Google, you can search for it but not compulsory.

1. Healthcare in a place like Canada without insurance can be very expensive. Personally, I'd take to be on the safe side.

2. Since you have electronics, I will advise you fill it. I don't know if you have goods to follow though, but here are the links

I joyfully announce the pick up of our Visas and COPR this evening. God is too much.

I will like to say a big thank you to Flosure for his prayers, support and encouragement, for all his assurances when I was worried and unsure. To Pipi's husband for his advise and counsel. And finally to our own Neyobash, who gave me the VIP treatment and picked my late night calls, addressing my worries and ensured that I and my passports are reunited.

For everyone waiting for one update or the other, just trust God to complete what He has started. It may be slow but it will SURELY happen.

Hi all, just a little tip I'm sharing before I forget

When you start driving in Canada, you may want to use the GPS service on your phone to get around or buy a GPS device like TomTom or Garmin and affix in your car. Whichever you use; phone or GPS device, please do not fix the phone or device holder anywhere on your windscreen. It is against the law.

A lot of people here are actually driving with the devices fixed directly on the windscreen because that's how their friends or relatives use it too. However, I just had a naija sister here learn the hard way that it should be affixed to the dashboard or a/c vent and never on the windshield. She was fined some serious dollars for this seemingly harmless infraction by a police patrol and points deducted from her licence!

For those with the device holder on your windshiled, please correct accordingly. Happy driving all 8)
