@canadamyplace: It shall end in praise.

Good morning house..........winter is coming!!!! :)

Good day all,

I pray that we will all receive good news soon IJN

I have sent my passport to Accra as requested and I just confirmed from tracking online that it has been signed for in Accra VO.

How will I be informed that they have received it, will the ECAS be updated, or will I get a mail.

Thanks.

Guess you didn't have any docs request along the line. Anyways the signing is all the proof you need that it has been delivered to the VO.

Much appreciated.

@Ayobunmi05 what you can do is monitor your ECAS, in most cases your status will change from IN PROCESS to DECISION MADE within the next 2-3 weeks. All the best.

They usually will not tell you it has been received but you should watch out for " decision made". At times, if you send them an email to confirm, they will respond.
You should get pick up email from AVO indicating that the visa has been endorsed and passport can be picked up after this. Show this to your courier agency. They will show this to them that your passport is ready for pick up. The mail from AVO will be in this form :

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Please note that your document is ready for pick-up. Kindly make an arrangement with a courier service to pick up your package.

Best regards,

Immigration Section

So far, over 21,000 Syrian refugees have arrived Canada since November 2015. Hopefully from March 2016 AVO should fully kick start dishing out MRs and PPRs by God's grace. See link below.

The figure that you have quoted is not entirely the 25,000 refugees the latest people in Government talked about. Just a fraction of what you have quoted and that is from the source that you have quoted it :

21,313 Syrian refugees have arrived in Canada since November 4, 2015

12,415 government-assisted refugees
1,787 blended visa office-referred refugees
7,111 privately sponsored refugees

Our missions overseas continue to process Syrian refugee cases as quickly as possible. As a result, Syrian refugees continue to arrive in Canada as part of our ongoing resettlement efforts.

Really funny but i can understand your pains and concern coupled with the fact that AVO seem not to be going according to the date of receipt of applications. I believe that you just have to remain optimistic. Again, it might be the case of the visa officer in charge of certain set of files because it is usually not handle by one person. Maybe one is faster than the other as a result of volume of files with him or her. It might even be that they want to ration the visas left while they are expecting more from the higher authorities. Let us just be hopeful.
