GentleAndrew get the picture....I submitted 2 accounts one for me and one for my spouse...for my account basically you will see my salary inflow and expenses done while my spouse's account is where bulk cash and investment are, of which the investment she did was shown with deposit tellers when these where done and collected the proceeds which was worth 3m....the only bulk deposit in my account was 2M which was a sale of property with evidence of the deed of assignment...totaling 5M for a family of 4

Ok• Did you explain all of these to them though the documents you submitted explained it all? Was the sale of property during the period you were processing your FsW application? What financial documents did you submit before you got PER? Did you merge your wife`s account and yours to get the the needed financial requirement by AVO or yours alone was ok? How long have you been working?

You still have not pasted a copy of the letter you sent to explain any bulk deposit if there was any• Sorry, I had to ask these questions to be able to appropriate my contributions•

Hi Gofame,

My bit is this: the immigration officers are more concerned about 'source of inflow' rather than the inflow itself.

Ensure you provide a letter detailing your current gross earnings as well as monthly payslips. This covers your regular source of income.

Per the large deposits....you must provide irrefutable evidence to show sale of property. Also, ensure you have documents to prove you were the initially owner of the property, sale receipts and possibly details of all related sale transactions. Do you have correspondences between yourself and the buyer? Include them.

Please do not be in a hurry to respond to AVO. You must try and reason like them and provide all required documents to make your point, but nsure you respond to them within the time frame. Remember: physical evidence of property ownership, correspondence between yourself and the buyer, sales receipts, corresponding bank entries, etc.

I hope this helps a bit.

Thanks a lot meemee

Hi Gofame,

it appears they had initially asked you for POF before making a decision.

Seniors, please assist. This is somewhat tricky.

Gofame said:
People!!!!!...I need all the assistance in the world now o..cos this cant be happening
, I am going to post below the mail I recieved from AVO on friday the 6th of march...Pls go through and tell me what you think I can do:

I have now completed the assessment of your application and I have determined that you do not meet the requirements of Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Subsection 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act states that a person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.

You were asked in a letter sent on November 20, 2014 to provide evidence that you had available funds in order to immigrate to Canada. This letter informed you that your application would be assessed on the basis of the information that was already before the officer and we also gave you the opportunity to respond to our concerns. I have received the requested proofs of funds and I have determined that you are not eligible to Canada as a foreign national by virtue of the fact that you do not meet the Financial requirements necessary for a family of 4 persons ($22, 170) as outlined in section R76(1)(b) of the Immigration Refugee Protection Act and the Regulations:

The skilled worker must

(i) have in the form of transferable and available funds, unencumbered by debts or other obligations, an amount equal to one half of the minimum necessary income applicable in respect of the group of persons consisting of the skilled worker and their family members, or
(ii) be awarded points under paragraph 82(2)(a), (b) or (d) for arranged employment, as defined in subsection 82(1), in Canada.

Your bank statements indicate large deposits which are considered questionable and do not reflect your regular income and savings you would have made over the past 3 years. I am not satisfied all those funds belong to you.
Subsection 11(1) of the Act provides that a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or any other document required by the regulations. The visa or document shall be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act.

Based on the information that is available, I am not satisfied that you meet all the requirements under the Federal Skilled Workers Class and I am therefore refusing your application.

Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.

Sincerely,

Immigration Officer
Immigration Section

What a heart broken news. From my understanding you were not asked to provide further documents within any time frame. It seems the application has been refused. Check your ECAS and find out what they wrote then involve an immigration lawyer immidiately. David may assist, first for AVO to reopen you case and continue processing. You need legal adviser sending another documets at this stage may not help much. Pray and trust God, He will show He is the Almighty in your case. Is well$

We're very grateful to God for a successful landing at Calgary on 05 March 2015. We got through the entire process without much hassles. This journey started in 2013 when I got interested in the FSWP but got my application returned due to “cap full” for my NOC. Like many others we crossed our hands waiting for 01 January 2015 to apply for EE when suddenly CIC announced FSWP in April 2014! Would have submitted on May 1 but for POF! Eventually sent our application package on 08 May and was rewarded with Maple leafs and CoPRs on 23 Dec 2014.
Our tickets (Ethiopia Air + Air Canada) were ready on 30 Dec 2014 to fly on 04 March 2015. The flights were Abuja-Addis: 4.30hrs duration; 2hrs wait time, Addis-Toronto: 15hrs duration, 3hrs wait time and Toronto-Calgary: 4hrs. The wait time at Toronto eventually increased because we missed our Calgary bound flight by some minutes. We didn't have the 3hrs wait time because Ethiopia Air flight was delayed by 1hr. So we had only 2hrs to do our landing procedures. The landing procedure was smooth and easy though, but there were too many people to attend to before it got to our turn. If you must take this route, then plan to have a minimum of 5hrs wait time between your flights. Although my 3hrs estimate would have been fine if not for the 1hr delay by Ethiopia Air from Addis. The landing procedure involved customs and immigration checks. At customs, we submitted the cards provided on-board and questions about whether we were carrying alcohol, dairy products, veges and >C$10k were asked. We had dried vegetables and they circled that portion of the form with RED marker. I thought that will portend trouble, but alas, they didn't even check or disturb us when we finally took our luggage through the last customs checkpoint. At immigration, passport checks, signing of COPRs and a warm “Welcome to Canada, you are now a Permanent Resident. You will be required to stay in-country for a minimum of 2yrs for the first 5yrs in order to maintain your status” As if the officer know say I no wan stay!!
During the entire trip, kids were all excited and had fun throughout. Movies, games, foods, drinks, story books and drawing/coloring workbooks were provided for the kids in-flight. During the extended wait at Toronto Airport we discovered a playground in the facility and that kept the kids occupied till we were ready to check-in. We also took out time at the Airport to sing and worship God and prayed the all-important Joshua 1:3 prayer and spoke into our future in the land. The kids eventually had a total shutdown during the Toronto-Calgary flight!
This is a short-landing for me. So we are just chilling and having fun at our new abode for the weekend. SIN, Bank/Credit cards, Kids School have all been scheduled for next week. We've secured appointment with Scotia Bank for Monday Afternoon. The banker I spoke with sounded so excited and already promising many great benefits from the bank! I know say na wayo sha. No bank dey give free lunch. No bank is Father Christmas, even in Switzerland.
Well, that's a summary of my story so far. If you still need some details on my landing experience, or any other issues pls feel free to do me a PM and I'd gladly respond. I wish you a smoother and a more seamless landing experience for those planning to move soon. And a quick response from CIC and AVO for those awaiting CC, DD, PER, MR, PPR and PRs. Our God is ABLE it for you too.

Congratulations!!! I pray you and your family enjoy the best the Canada has to offer!

Hi everyone, this is my first time of posting on this domain. I applied in 2013 (FSWP) London was my visa office as my wife and I and our 2 little kids are based in the UK. however my application was finally refused in September of 2014 after an interview I had in April of 2013. My NOC was 1112 and My wife also launched an application same 2013 same NOC (1112) but hers was returned as cap was filled.
Nonetheless, I put in an application for my wife in May 2014 Noc 1112 and we made Accra her visa office. So far so good on this journey as we have done our medicals recently about 2 weeks ago here in the UK.
My enquiry is if anyone kind-hearted would inform me how much time is offered by AVO from time of Passport request and time expected to furnish passport to them. What I'm trying to find out is the estimated time lag from time of passport request and time it is expected to reach them. For example when we were asked to do medicals, we were given 30 days for complete medicals, send updated schedule A and pay for RPRF as well.

Your insight and heads up would be much appreciated, cheers.

Thanks all.

Hi Tomemeh....well, i am doing the PMP exam this June to add to my MSc and SPHR certification. I applied for a few jobs in the canadian market and got 3 different interview requests. Based on my naija 1st degree, SPHR and MSc alone plus work experience...no canadian qualification. I was shocked!!!

Unfortunately, i had to turn all 3 down as i didnt have PR and also because i really didnt expect anyone to call me. I was just testing the waters.

So...based on talks with experienced HR pips in canada...the PMP will also come in handy.

Also, i enrolled with Uni of Calgary for an online HR certificate course (very much recognised).

Hope this helps.

Really commend your courage in moving ahead against all odds.
I must also congratulate you and the whole family for your current status.
Regarding the time frame given at Passport request for onward submission,Accra will normally give 15 calendar days for the submission of your passports documents...this means that the passport documents must get to Accra facility of the Canadian high commission latest on the 15th day after your receive the passport requests.
A sample of the generic passport request mail normally sent by Accra Visa office is quoted below..

Hi Anyi Nature,

Please visit this link: http://conted.ucalgary.ca/public/category/courseCategoryCertificateProfile.do?method=load&certificateId=1706239

You may also want to do the project management professional (PMP) exam as more and more employers require their HR staff to have PM skills.

All the best.

I am so waiting for the flood of PPRs that starts shortly....People, by the way, my earlier question on behalf of a friend and colleague appeared to have dropped on the blind-side. please: I have a colleague at work who originally applied for FSWP in May 2014 (the first week) application was returned for not including the original credential evaluation report. He quickly regularized and resent his application in November 2014 and was granted access to his ecas in feb 2015 for a couple of weeks! He is finding issues logging into ecas as we speak and he has enquired from gtbank if his draft had been cashed. GT confirmed encashment! but alas, the issues are, he is yet to get his PER email from CIC and no form of contact yet from Accra....He is so disturbed at this development. Any help with this issue will be appreciated.
