I really appreciate you guys' patience in this forum. Accra VO is really slow. I used Pretoria and all my friends who applied in May have received Medicals Request. I really hope and pray that things get speedy soonest. Guess its the backlog issue (not Ebola as someone was speculating)

Accra is actually picking up pace now as they are attending to 2013 at the moment and even issued Visa. we should start receiving our MR soon as well...

Yes,you can use your debit card please.
I have seen GTB master card and fidelity Visa being charged.
If still in doubt,kindly go for DD.

I have been a quiet follower of this thread for a while now and I must say that I have learnt alot from this thread and forum. I just found out on the global FSW 2014 thread that an application received on the 24th of July 2014 has been returned. Does this mean that the CIO has started working on July Applicants? I am a July 2nd Applicant.

Read the reason for refusal below

I AM SO SAD RIGHT NOW.
NOC 2145."PETROLEUM ENGINEER"
I received my application back today 20TH 0CT.
Application received date by CIO: 24TH JULY,2014
REASONS BEING:"Your letter of employment must clearly give evidence showing that you have performed the actions described in the lead statement"

My Boss used the one on the CIC page, it looks 80% close to the one stated by CIC but NEVER COPY-PASTED. The reason for rejection was the least expected to me, My Boss was shocked as well, he tried his best to do every thing appropriately.

PLEASE!! Is there any NOC 2145 " PETROLEUM ENGINEER" out there who would like to help me out with duties so i can send it to my Boss to use it as guide line to right new one, my Boss and I are confused about what CIO might be looking for.

Really feel for you. Sorry about that. If your boss is really keen on helping you, let him do a search on job adverts for Petroleum Engineers on google and try to get the best job description for you. It should offcourse be your right job description

so sorry to hear this, was it your reference letter or employment letter?
anyway, make your research and try to reapply. your NOC is on the cold side, you should be able to make it. best of luck.

Dear codeguy31,

It's best to read the lead statement describing the job descriptions very carefully and understand them.

If well understood, your line manager will be able to match what you do with the lead statement.

Ofcourse copying and pasting will not help, but you have to be sure you actually perform the duties as described.

A fellow member has mentioned using a search engine to source for JDs for this particular NOC, so that you can have other good examples to use from.

I just wanted to understand the refusal. Its not my application, I am still waiting for my DD to be encashed (July 2nd applicant). At least I know CIO has started completeness checks on July 2014 application.

While waiting, you can send an inquiry about your package to this address: cio-sydney-search-enquiry @ cic.gc.ca
Quote your date of birth, passport number, date ur package was delivered. They will reply after 21 days.
Thank God I did that, they told me they do not have the record of my application. I was told to send my tracking number. This I did and the next mail I received was that my application has been placed into processing. After all they are human too.
I always advice anybody that have not heard from them and is anxious to do the same.

I'm so sorry about that.
You still have time to re-submit your application. Try not to use exact words/sentences as the cic description except for technical terms (if any) but your description must relate to the required experience. You can check vacancy job description to draft something close.

Make sure you complete newest version of application forms.

Thanks for the clarification, I was just going to ask you to confirm whether it was you as you said you submitted on 2nd July. I want to believe the completeness test for your application has gone through and soon you will share your good news with us.
For you guy whose application was returned, my fellow country men have advised well, he needs to go through the lead statement and ensure his duties are in line with the responsibilities...
