For a family of 2 like me, my funds was 15k CAD i think. Am i expected to still have this 15k CAD in my statement of account when i arrive the airport?

For us and from most people's testimony. The proof of funds is not verified or taken with any serious look. If you have more than 10k cad/usd when coming in, ensure you complete the declaration form to show what you have and if not, you are good to go. The officers will accept whatever amount you told them and enter it in the records without verifying the amount or requesting to see it but let the amount look like whatever amount you will call in case you meet a curious officer which is most unlikely. For a family of two, the required settlement funds is CA$15,143; this is what you must show, or show proof of when you land. Although as stated above, very seldom do the officers ask to show settlement funds or proof of it, they mostly want to know if you're carrying CA$10,000 or above. To be on the safe side though, be ready to at least show proof of funds for CA$15,143 to avoid disaster.

Also in addition, the 15k CAD can be in a Nigerian statement of account, domicilary account or fixed deposit. You only declare if you have 10k in cash with you even else no declaration.
I came in with 1k usd and 4k naira cash and I told them just that. Most Officer will ask how much den you have with you and not your POF. Good luck in Canny.

Landed Calgary via Toronto safely last week.
I must commend the Immigration and Customs at Abuja. Courteous and acted professionally. No hassling..
Pathetic that we had to land in Accra for fuelling before departing for Dubai.. this reduced the transit time significantly that we had to rush in order to catch up our connecting flight. Thank God I already got my boarding pass in Abuja for the 3legged journey.
Unfortunately, we missed our flight from Toronto to Calgary due to delay in Dubai.
The landing process was smooth and swift.. within 30minutes we were done. No POF asked. Got our SIN number at Toronto.

Health card done already,, Bank account opened and active, registration with the Calgary immigration services done..

Job hunting and accommodation mode activated. Networking as much as possible with optimistic and positively minded persons.

There is indeed ALWAYS a better way with God

its not a bad idea and infact its long over due, i think we should go ahead and designate 3days for the prayer and fasting.
