FSW 2014 applicants from Nigeria - Let's network

Please help! Bit complex!

I have applied to FSW in the month of MAY/JUNE.

there are 2 applicants in my file, me & my wife.

My wife's passport carries her maiden name before marriage, and we did not change her name as just after marriage we applied for Quebec visa as well. And now for FSW.

So there was no time for us to change the name of my wife as even the passport with new changed name takes minimum 1 month and we were in hurry.

Now my question is, now i have the time.

1) How I can change the name of my wife in her application? Because i want my wife should carry the PR card with her changed name after marriage.

2) As my application is under processing, for changing the name, now can i make the changes in her passport for change in name?

Experts please help!!!

Include your marraige certificate in your application. If your application scales through the first screening by the CIO, your file will be transferred to your VO. When they communicate to you, you can inform them that your wife has a new passport. Anything they require, they will ask you at that time

2) As my application is under processing, for changing the name, now can i make the changes in her passport for change in name? Yes, please go ahead and get your wife a new passport with her married name. You can update your VO later about it when they request for passport. It is no big deal

Hi guys, still no update on the number of applications recieved per NOC code on the CIC website. Apparently, a lot of people are scrambling to get their documents in order and also arrange application fee.

My question is how do I get a reference letter since the bank no longer 'exists' in that name, management and all have been changed etc.

Hi, you can get your reference letter for liquidated/nationalised banks from NDIC at their office in Mamman Kotangora House in Marina, Lagos. Just write an application stating your need for a reference concerning your employment with XX bank for immigration purpose. Ensure you state your period of employment and roles and include your employment and resignation letters. Cheers

Hello.........I got notification from my bank (GTB) on Sat. 28/06/14 on the debit of my dollar mastercard account by CIC. Though I cannot ascertain the exact date the account was charged, but suspect it was Friday 27/06/14. I applied under NOC 2132 and my application was received by CIO on 07/05/2014 delivered through DHL.

I guess I'm the first person on this forum to be charged from Nigeria. Can someone advise when I should expect PER mail. Thanks for all the informative posts from our senior colleagues here.

Big congrats to you. A major hurdle cleared with the charging of your Mastercard. I'm sure you've noticed how CIC is slow this year but expect your PER by early next month. Congrats again and hope to hear more from you

I am stuck with WES. They sent verification for my wife's certificate to Nursing and Midwifery council since May 5. I have contact the Nursing council they said they have not received the request. What do I do ? The time is flying and the NOCs will soon cap. I need your suggestions or recommendations please.

Get the school to send it even though the request hasn't been received...this is naija, you have to push and follow up
