FSW 2013 chances if applied after Aug 17th?

Hi,
I want to apply for the FSW 2013 program. But I live in Atlanta and the next date for IELTS is only on 17th Aug. So I cannot send my application for FSW before that.
That being the case do I stand a chance to get in the Computer Programming profession quote before it fills up? I assume that would be the most sought after quota.
I am a software professional. India citizen working in the US on H1b visa

I think the computer programming noc has already reached its cap and you have no chance. However that's just my opinion regarding how many applications have been received.

No - there is no way to find out for sure. The number of complete applications showing on the CIC web site only reflects the very beginning of May.

If you can, continue your plan to take the IELTS, that way you will be ready for whatever might open up - be it a job offer or next years intake (if Comp Programmers are included). To be ready at the starting block is half the battle!

Regarding this years intake, it wouldn't be right to get your hopes up. The published cap details are not very recent but CIC will hopefully publish an update soon so that will maybe give more information. The link is here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp
