It's very urgent, pLease help! Can I switch from 1 year Postgraduate course to 2-year diploma program WITHIN the same college? Do I have to notify CIC? Any problem with such change?? because I assume I will have to extend my study permit then...

hi,
yes you will have to notify CIC for sure. There is a section which tells you in detail in their website. And you will have to extend your study permit as well. Depends how many months or days left or you haven't started your program yet, but in any case CIC has to be notified for sure

Can you link this section? I only know that you have to notify if you change institution, but not the program/level WITHIN one college

diploma that you are switching for should not give your studies a downward projection. when a student goes fo a degree/diploma/certificate that does not take your studies to next level there are greater chances that the visa will be rejected.

Agreed.

yumirdci, close to the date of finishing your studies at your PG diploma apply to another one PG- also 1 year long. It could give you 3 years of PGWP in the end.
