I think they received my documents on Feb 9th, they created my AOR on the 12th and I only received it around the 27th of Feb.
I might be getting the dates wrong +-2 days. It is pretty fast.

Thanks Tarry.

I do not think I will have difficulty in getting TRV for visiting Canada. What I am concerned about is if I enter Canada on TRV and try to change status to student, then
1) will I have to leave Canada and come back to the US for an interview
2) can I just stay inside Canada and file the change of status paperwork
I am not sure if there will be an interview inside Canada for change of status from TRV to student visa (there isn't one in the US when we change from F1 to F2 or F1 to H1B).

1,  Short answer as a visitor in Canada you cannot apply for a change to study permit.
2.  If an interview is required and you apply at a US office, the interview will be in the US.
3.  US and Canada are two different countries with different Immigration Acts.

If it is as you informed, then you have good chances of getting a PRV. I guess you will not be interviewed but this is at the discretion of the officer who will be handling your application, but because you have been to Canada  before, probably you will not be interviewed.

Good luck  :)

PMM,

As stated earlier, it is possible to switch from TRV to Study permit so far as you are enrolled in a school. All you have to do is apply for a change of status and attached the letter of confirmation from the school to it.

Nuff respect!!

Hi Rupeshhari,

I'm a little confuse now. After you received the AOR, what happened next? AOR from Sidney is just an acknowledge that they received your application right? So you received a separate AOR from Buffalo which says that the Buffalo Visa Office received your application forms from Sidney? Or do you mean that the AOR from Buffalo was after you send the Visa Office requirements (further documents)?

Did you receive any request yet to submit further documents? If so, when did you receive such request?

Please let me know what to expect in the next few months.

Hope to hear from you.

Thanks,

I received AOR from Sydney in early Jan. They asked me to send documentation to Buffalo. The AOR from sydney is that they looked at my application and i should go on to the next steps.

Then I sent documentation to Buffalo in Feb and Buffalo sent their AOR in Feb too.
After that there has been no communication.
I am hoping that they will come back and say my file is transfered to NY lol, if not, i hope they come back and say that i should do the medicals but both are of high hopes. Most likely, in about 5months, they will ask me to do IELTS or medicals or both.
