Hi there,

Has anyone experience with the following.. I am working as a freelance geoscientist for a company based out of the USA, however I work all over the world, mainly in Europe. Can I put down Canada as the country/territory of employment as I am declaring tax on this money I am earning here? Or as the companies I am technically working for are based not in Canada, what country should I use? Hoping to use Canada as this will put me over my point allocation.

Any advice greatly appreciated, many thanks.

You will have to clarify - "freelance" usually means self-employed. If you are self-employed while residing in Canada, it is indeed taxable by Canada, however, self-employment is specifically excluded from Canadian experience, as is work performed outside the country.
