Free PDF File editor

Hi all,

I am running mac osx 10.7.5 and Im looking for a free editing software for pdf. I tried too get acrobat pro free trial for 30 days but it only runs on 10.8 or higher. Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Preview has built-in PDF creator, even in the print menu from any app on mac you can export to PDF, you cannot edit those PDFs however once created

Im looking too edit a scanned document as an old company I worked for made some spelling mistakes with my letter of employment. I tried preview but I couldnt seem too edit a scanned pdf

no, preview won't work for editing, you'll need acrobat pro, that's the only option I'm aware of, not sure about if there's any other PDF editors

Copy and paste the text into a Microsoft office or Apache open office document then if you still want to be a PDF export back as a PDF ? Maybe you already tried that or text protected ?

I think I may just have to buy adobe acrobat pro as none of the rest of them will edit scanned documents. I was hoping to find a free software out there or get a 30 day free trial of one of them. I have tried a good few of them now but none of there free versions will let me edit scanned pdfs. I cant seem to get adobe acrobat pro for 10.7.5 it says you need to be running 10.8 or higher.

So you cannot copy the text and paste into a text document, edit and then save as a PDF using for example Apache open office on a MAC ?

I am going to try that now, I tried too import the scanned document into apache and it just kept encoding all wierd with about 50 pages of wierd looking text

maybe you can save a bit by having adobe creative cloud for a month instead of buying the whole thing

importing will not work but a basic select, copy and paste into a text document should work. Edit in Apache then export as PDF when done

First of I want to thank you for helping me

now I have found a way too convert the scanned document too text, but theres more I am now trying to find a software that can allow me too copy the letter head and the signature at the bottom of the page from the scanned letter. I have the text now I just need the letter head and the signature at the bottom. I cant seem to get AA pro free trial as the version of my mac is too old
