I am Durham College Student pursuing graduate certificate (September 2017 - April 2018) and my study permit is expiring in end of august 2018.

I started my education in September 2017. I want to do another one year program but that program is starting in September 2018. I have several queries in my mind such as :

1. Can i take four months break from April 2018 to 31 August 2018 as my first program is going to finish on 31 April,2018.

2. If i take a gap then is there any kind of problem i can face in the future for my work permit.

3. If i take a gap of four months then how many hours of work can i do in a week .

I will be very thankful to you if you solve my these queries so that i will not face any difficulties in the future.

Thank you.

Once you stop/finish your current program, your study permit will be invalid in 90 days and you are not allowed to work (whether part-time or full-time). You have to stop working immediately where any work you do will be illegal. If you want to work/study in Canada after your current program, you will have to apply for a work/study permit if you are eligible for one.
Good Luck!
