Try to determine first your points using this link... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp ... it doesn't matter kahit no job experience wife mo coz u'r the principal applicant naman, but her bachelors degree can give additional points for you as well.

Proof of funds – Federal skilled workers
You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you get to Canada. You cannot borrow this money from another person. You must be able to use this money to pay the costs of living for your family (even if they are not coming with you).

You will need to show proof to the Canadian visa office in your home country that you have enough money when you apply to immigrate.

The amount of money you need to support your family is set by the size of your family. We update these amounts every year.

Number of
Family Members Funds Required
(in Canadian dollars)
1 $11,115
2 $13,837
3 $17,011
4 $20,654
5 $23,425
6 $26,419
7 or more $29,414

FYI din po, nung time na ng-migrate ako... wala akong show money na ganyan kalaki, I even used my credit card sa pambayad ng initial application fee since I know na kapag hindi ako qualified, CIC will return back the fee naman..... then ng-loan ako sa bank in Dubai for the show money and binalik ko na lang nung andto na kami. You dont need to have a lot of money para mg-start ng application, advantage pa po sa mga pinoy sa UAE coz madaling makapag-loan dyan... I dont care the interest that I was paying before coz ang kapalit naman is life stability and hindi na expat ang tawag sa abroad....
nkaka relate lng..hehe.. thank u Dubai for lending us our show money.hehe.. buti nlng almost 2 yrs din ang takbo ng application and naka pg ipon pa ng konting pambaon. sana lng di maubos ang kakarampot na baon.hehe.survival jobs nlng muna tlga. bahala na..laban lng..hehe!

need help po sa mga kabayan na me experience na like submitting credentials in IQAS for assessment even before landing. We' re presently here in Dubai and we're planning to land by April 2014. At the same time na nag- iipon pa ako nang konteng baon before finally going there in canada, inaa- asikaso ko na rin kasi yung ibang bagay like credential assessment para kapag andun na, hawak ko na evaluation ko na magagamit ko for job hunting purpose. Just to inquire if, yung mga documents po ba like diploma OTR from collage & High School ay required na dapat yung school mismo mag- send or kahit ako na? how about yung payment, bank draft ba is enough just enclose in the application? which courrier here in dubai ang magandang magpadala? salamat...

hi po sa lahat, saan po makakabili nang TOEFL reviewer dito sa Dubai or UAE? medyo mahal kasi kung mag- eenrol pa sa mga Training courses (nasa 2500 AED). Kelangan ko kasi for my application for license in Civil Engr in APEGA (Alberta). Thanks po...

hello.. check this site din.... http://humanservices.alberta.ca/services-near-you/2433.html, yan lang ng binasa ko when i was searching for programs para sa immigrant in Calgary.... select nyo na lang ang option for Edmonton, bawat city may mga programs sila... try to call the agencies and make an appointment coz it will take time bago makakuha ng slot sa mga agencies dito.. About don sa IQAS.. i even applied for that when I was in Dubai and paid more or less 200Dollars ata para samin dalawa ng husband ko, can't remember pero i know mahal.... but when we arrived here, FREE din pala ang pa-assess sa IQAS for new immigrants.....

Even yung winter clothes, I did the shopping sa Dubai, pagdating dto, mas mura pa pala ang pang-ginaw. :) and branded pa, About sa weather, mas malamig sa edmonton if winter...malamig din naman sa Calgary but mabilis malusaw ang ice compare sa edmonton; here in Fort MAc, hindi ko pa alam, balitaan ko po kayo anong lagay pgdating ng winter.. :D

Free ang education for new immigrants basta related sa profession ang kukuhaning course, sasagutin ng government ang tuition fees, plus may living allowance pang makukuha while studying; I know coz ng-aral din po ako... ang kaso hindi ko natapos coz nakakuha nako ng work related sa field ko....ginawa ko lang alternative ang pag-aaral para makakuha kami ng living allowance sa government at continue ang cash flow habang nauubos ang show money namin while living as survival...

Hi po, as im reading this thread, i found na very informative po yung mga posts mo especially about migrating in calgary. Im more interested to know more about sa sinasabi mong free education for new immigrants. Pwede po pahingi nang mga links na pwede ko puntahan para makapag-research or any further infos na pwede mo ma-share sa amin will be a big help for us. Im planning to pursue my profession sa canada & i started it already by applying for membership in APEGA. Alam ko lang is kailngan ko i-upgrade education ko. Parehas kami nang wife ko Civil Engineering degree, and i think malaking tulong ang info na mashare mo sa amin about sa free education for immigrants. Thanks ulit

Hi Yogi77

Sorry, sobrang late na ng reply, naging busy kse..nakapag-landing kanaba sa Canada? which city? hoping na na-avail mo lahat ng benefits for new immigrants.. Just for update lang guys lalo sa mga engineer immigrants...my husband and I have tried to work in Fort Mcmurray but we decided na bumalik sa Calgary dahil hindi namin kaya ang winter don..(-45C)...its true na nasa Fort Mcmurray ang profession natin but you need to be ready po sa winter dahil talagang nakakaiyak ang lamig...

About sa free education yogi..try to search from google "Skills Investment Funding for New Immigrants" yan ang na-avail kong free education before..but i think madami na namang new programs for immigrants..check the CIC website na lang for new updates..

About Apega,,parehas din kaming mg-asawa engineering background..before I was very eager na mgpa-certified kaso habang tumatagal kami dto at nakaka-meet ng ibang immigrants na may APEGA...almost ang comment, wala daw kuwenta at hindi magamit...anyhow, up to you naman...

Naka-4 years na kami sa Canada but survival pa din, we're just waiting for our citizenship then babalik na din sa Dubai...Mas practical kse ang personality namin mg-asawa..we're getting a more higher salary sa DUbai coz walang tax and free house and transpo before..dto sa canada...sayo lahat..the higher na ang salary bracket..ang taas din ng tax, daming bayarin for insurances (car, rent, life) and ang pagbili ng bahay..it's really a big decision talaga...ayaw lang talaga namin matulad sa karamihan ng kababayan natin dto na lubog na talaga sa credit.... IN short....mas masaya pa din para sa amin mg-asawa ang mg-work sa DUbai coz nagamit namin ang profession at nakapag-ipon talaga... So goodluck na lang sa Canada... I still wish everyone na maging successful po kayo dto! :)
